Harrahs AC Minimum Bet
One thing I was annoyed by during my AC impromptu visit a few days ago was over at Harrahs, on their 5 cent machines (single line), they now have the games programmed to automatically select a minimum of 20 credits each time someone hits deal/draw......in other words they have Minimum of 1 dollar bet on 5 cent games, even though the game format still looks the same and the notorious "bet five" button appears active and viable, except when you hit "bet five" it actually BETS 20 !!!! wtf......How desperate is CET to pull this seeming inconsequential yet highly annoying and ridiculous crap???? You can still bet single credit quarter (25 cents) on 25 cent denom games......!!!!! Are they really that hard up for cash they force people who normally choose single line nickel games to bet more than they otherwise would????Of course, the maximum on most of the nickel machines in Harrahs is 50 credits so someone choosing max coin would be betting $2.50 but I guess that does not happen often enough for them.......makes you wonder why they are encouraging people to bet max coin since that is what makes a LEGIT video poker game a good bet for a player, the potential max coin royal payout!I really am starting to loathe CET and the way they do business.

With all the options you have around you, why would you play there? The best way to stop that kind of crap is to vote with your feet. Here in Florida we don't have many options, but you guys are eye balls deep in casinos.

Obviously, I agree with this statement.....I merely posted this as an example of observational outrage. I hardly ever play nickel stakes single line VP but the way Harrah's currently has their video poker machines laid out it is easy to come across games and machines you normally would never encounter, since things are so hodgepodge and mixed around.....plus, I had not actually been in the area within the Harrahs AC casino that I found myself in when I encountered these "$1.00 minimum bet games"......As I said initially, what I found most bizarre and even annoying was the fact that the games still had the "bet 5 (five)" button option clearly highlighted as if it were still a viable option, but when you press it, the machine jumps all the way to 20 credits!!!!! This may in fact be VIOLATING some actual gaming regulation or rule, since it is very confusing and startling if someone who is not too experienced sits down and expects to play just 5 credits a hand (25 cents) but suddenly finds they are committed to a 20 credit ($1) bet.......seems to me there is something rotten here.....Note: in very (VERY) small obscure print, there is a tiny label affixed on the opposite side of the front of the game from the area where a player sees the "BET FIVE" option displayed which says "$1.00 minimum bet".....that is all it says. nothing else. there is no additional info within the game itself, within the programming or display info onscreen, nada.Since I never play nickel single line, someone may ask why am I even talking about this or why do I care........the answer is I only care in so far as this is but one more extended example of just how bad CET properties and practice have become in terms of how lousy they are treating its loyal customers......this is not a knock on AC, it is against CET and Harrahs AC.......I did not bother (or care to bother) to check if BAllys or Caesars AC also has similar weirdness or annoying practices with its single line nickel games.....I would wager a plug nickel that they do.....Anyone care to comment on the Gaming regulations aspect of this crap? I am certain this crap would not fly in Vegas or Nevada......

DaBurglar how come you didn't mention this "tiny label" in your originating post?

DaBurglar how come you didn't mention this "tiny label" in your originating post?Tiny oversight on my part......the tiny label is in fact, tiny and is easy to miss or overlook (and even easier to forget about, which I did when I first posted on this topic.) Now I invite you to share or elaborate why you felt behooved to point out this TINY oversight .... surely you must have thoughts or opinions on the broader issues here besides the tiny label.....NOTE: Since attention has been focused on the tiny label, I might add just to emphasize how easy it is to "miss" the label when you first sit down at the game, on a couple machines the label was already starting to peel off or become dog eared, either from the humidity that is prevalent in this part of the marina in AC.......OR, because it is cheap adhesive on a cheap label in general (which, given my knowledge of packaging and paper products, I know this label was most likely a "custom" job someone in their purchasing department had to order on the fly from whatever label vendor they have a relationship with......hence it was probably done at lowest cost with the fastest lead time which tends to put QUALITY on the bottom of the priority list.....) The label was a off gray color with black print, and when set upon the metallic and black bar or armrest that is typical for most of HArrah's server based VP machine set ups, makes it easy for the label to blend in and NOT be seen or stand out!In other words, Harrahs did the absolute BARE minimum to inform or alert prospective players of the new and unusual (and annoying) requirement for playing its 5 cent single line game(s). Boo hiss CET, Boo Hiss Harrahs......

I like Harrah's more for the blessed pool and fun restos than the dark casino floor w poor awkward navigation. Bally's and Caesars for me. I prefer to get soaked in the conventional, literal fashion.
