Best run I've ever had at FPDW

Post by markinca »

I've played for probably about 8 hours total during my trip to vegas, and I've gotten SIX quad deuces. I haven't hit a royal, but I haven't needed to, with this ridiculous luck.

Any of you guys have similar stories of a cluster of high-paying hands all occurring in a small time period? After about my 4th quad, I felt like I was in a dream.

Nice run, savor those moments. At the beginning of this year I hit quad deuces on a 2 dollar denomination machine twice in 20 minutes. An hour later I hit a royal on A .25 denomination machine and shortly after that I got AWAK on TDB on the same .25 denomination machine.

Continued good luck to you.

Congrats on the win streak, I hope it continues! I don't play DW very often so I have never had your experience, but on Father's day this year playing DDB I hit 5 quads in 49 minutes. This run included Aces with and without a kicker, and 2s no kicker, 3s no kicker and queens. The people playing on either side of me were hitting nothing and I started to feel a little embarrassed as my hits kept coming and their machines were quiet. On another trip I hit 3s with a 4 kicker and then 2 hands later hit 4s with a 3 kicker.Enjoy the rest of your trip.

The best I have done was three quad deuces in 30 minutes at the Beau Rivage bar.  It's a damn good thing too as I was down about $2K up until then.    Last year I decided to play single coin quarter DDB all day just to see what would happen.  I walked into the casino about 8 AM and played solid until 5 PM.  I caught more quads than I had ever seen before including 4 sets of quad aces one with a kicker.  I never got a royal and walked out dead even.  Taught me something about DDB.

Yep, DDB is a roller coaster for sure. My last trip to Vegas, a 3 day weekend, I played $14,300 coin in. I Hit 36 quads, 14 of which were bonus, including Aces 5 times ( once with a kicker). Still, at 1 am Monday morning, 6 hours before I had to go to the airport, I was only $100 ahead. Then I hit my first Royal ever! Cashed that ticket, slept a few hours and got out of town.

First, welcome to the forum. Sweet C calls it being in the "Zone". Second as Ted said "enjoy the streak!"   They can be short and sweet and long and really sour. Your choice of DW should help level out the volatility. DW and DWB is what I play 90% of the time for that reason.

With the hit and run mentality, my idea of run is running out of the place. Which I would have to do fairly quick anyway as a day tripper. So how long have you been playing VP before your royal?

I've been going to casinos for about 25 years but I played a variety of games, from blackjack to roulette to slots and only occasionally played video poker. But over the last 5 - 7 years I gradually played more and more video poker. It was my Vegas trip last year that I switched to video poker almost exclusively.  I am guessing that I probably had played about 60,000 hands before that first Royal. Luckily I have hit two more since in my last 30,000 hands. Would you and other posters be interested in sharing your first Royal story? Mine was in hearts and I held just a single Ace. Palms Casino, slant top machine near the check in area.

My first (and so far only) royal was at Sam's Town, on a 25c FPDW machine. Held TJQ spades. When the AK spades came up, I just kinda stared blankly for a second and let out a quiet 'holy ****'... though apparently it was loud enough for the old lady next to me to look at my screen haha

Granted, I only just started to play VP regularly (I know for sure I haven't played a royal-cycle's worth of hands yet), but I hope I hit another soon!

My first royal was back in 1994 at Harrah's in Joliet,IL on the river boat. I've had hundreds since but I do remember that first one.
