Math help please

In the recreational play forum someone posted some suggested changes for deuces wild strategy and Vman96 replied with the resulting changes in hit frequency of Royals and other hands. Could someone please explain how this is determined?Thanks in advance.

I believe Wolf Poker was used to determine the return for using a distinct strategy that an user specified.

I believe Mr. Dancer stated he uses all three as part of his training process: WinPoker, Video Poker for Winners, and Wolf Poker. Each one has an unique feature that stands apart from the rest, but each of them is a must have for any serious players.

Forgot to add: while all three products provide the basic feature to inform you what the best play is in terms of ER, Wolf Poker is most useful to evaluate a simplified approach to those that do not wish to squeeze every last penalty situations to get the highest possible return. The player can see how much they sacrifice going with a simplified rule change compared to the optimal.

I meant to say it is a must to own at least one of the three training programs. It would all depend on the degree of expertise you seek. I think Video Poker for Winners is good enough for many, I like the bankroll tool and denomination switching. Wizard of Odds also has web based one if you wish to use one at no cost.

I am not sure if there is a trial period like Video Poker for Winners does

The best benefit WinPoker (Mr. Dancer was also involved with this) offers is you can specify the amount where the top two plays differ by a few coins and practice hands for that game.

Yeah alpax is right. I actually used frugal video poker for it though because I'm cheap and it's free on the wolf VP website.

Thanks for the head's up about Frugal Video Poker. I used this program for years but when I updated to Windows 7 it wouldn't work anymore.

How can anyone win on Video Poker even if they are an expert player and playing full pay when you can expect a royal flush every 40,000 hands which amounts to playing $50,000 through a quarter machine? A quarter royal flush only pays $1000. Please explain the math behind this.

Many of the other hands payback money too. If the overall payback of a game is greater than 100% then the money won from all winning hands is expected to exceed the amount you paid to play the game. For example just a high pair in VP is expected to pay over 21% of your money back alone.
