Re: Math help please
How can anyone win on Video Poker even if they are an expert player and
playing full pay when you can expect a royal flush every 40,000 hands
which amounts to playing $50,000 through a quarter machine? A quarter
royal flush only pays $1000.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Theoretically, you get 99.54% of your money back on JOB. Theory and a dollar get you a newspaper too. Florida Phil's Cheap Strategy on Deuces Wild suggests playing the vast majority of hands at below max coin. These are all negative expectation games, after all.

For those interested they have a free trainer at freeslots.com. I like it as it shows the percentages of each hand. You can set it to warn. It shows you how fast your playing per hour and your wins vs loses. It also has many games and you can change the tables if you want to.

beat
the casino when playing a negative expectation video poker game long term is
by consistently hitting jackpots at a significantly higher denomination than
the majority of your play.

Short coin may be boring as hell, but there is nothing more cost efficient. You wanna knock yourself out bumping up the progressive on my bank, I'm not going to stop you.

Freeslots is pretty cool, lmb. I hit a quad my first hand. Let's replicate that in the real world. It was weird to get twice the payout. What's the deal with the 2X Pay button? Is there a way to switch it on and off?

Yeah, click the button and it will go down to 1X pay. Guessing 2X pay is there for people to feel like winners... For a free web trainer, looks good.

When it comes to evaluating correct holds on a single line video poker based on common paytables, there are some options out there like the mentioned cheapslots and the wizard of odds that will tell you the return of all 32 possible holding options out of a 5 card draw. This site even with the gold membership surprisingly does not have this detailed feature to see how big of a mistake you've made, probably to get you to buy Video Poker for Winners software which I did. It will only tell you if it is the best play with a Green Light, a decent play with a Yellow Light while revealing the correct hold, and a terrible play with a Red Light.
What attracts people to this site is that it provides the gimmick games you see in casinos that no other site can provide, which Ultimate X is one of the most popular. It also provides the gimmick Keno games seen on Game King machines.

i was not clear in my post, the site i was referring to was 'free slots'. that is the only place i play for fun. i was not disputing their correct hold, just whether they might tinker with the cards, to keep you playing and viewing the ads.

Oh, maybe since they aren't legally required to have a random game. It would be hard to prove though. Which is the whole casino conundrum to begin with. Data samples need to be large to be confident in an unfair game existing if the programmers do it well.
