Re: Every Girl Remembers Her First!
@VMan, no, I don't think you were nasty or inflammatory. Before things changed in FL, we had the Class II bingo slots. We played it because it was the only thing that we had. Before that, if you wanted to gamble you went on a day cruise to nowhere. Truthfully, I don't look at tables, because most of the time they aren't that great. I play because I like the game. I feel that I make good choices (most of the time) when holding hands, and always like to try and better my play. Believe me, when I posted my win I didn't think it was going to get this heated...Calm down all! LOL.
whether you know it or not, your original post brought up an interesting discussion. personally, i like your attitude about playing, because you like the game. same here. your post touches upon the subject of whether everybody wants to be informed about inaccurate play or if they are playing an inferrior paytable. the more you post, it is obvious you are well informed about VP, and don't need anyone's help. no harm was intended. for myself, i have stopped offering congrats to any post that does not include a net result. i have had premium hands and still lost.

first off congrats to the lady and her win...Second, this continued sensitivity on certain posters' part about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that can be taken or interpreted in multiple ways is killing this forum....in other words, I encourage all people here to ignore Ted's repeated attempts to stir sh*t and talk condescendingly down on anyone who he thinks he can get away with doing it upon.....Third, I learned a lot in this thread: I was totally not aware that the entire state of NY had decreed that in all its casinos everywhere, Class III vp (i.e. "VEGAS STYLE") was not permitted and that all machines were slot machines disguised as regular Video Poker.....I am glad I found this out since I was actually considering taking a trip upstate to Lake George and SARATOGA and planned on hitting the several casinos in the area....I stil may go but will only play LIVE poker, or play the horses at Saratoga (the only place I ever bet on horse racing.)Lastly, I am serious.....it's okay to debate, even heatedly actual issues and concrete topics (like "Is VP rigged in AC" or "What's the best betting strategy, MAX coin or Florida Phil's less-is-more tactics", etc etc): But this faux political correctnes, debating the alleged intentions of certain posters who post something is BS.....VMAN did all of us a favor with his post, as did others.......
Ahh DaBurglar you are still quite the sweet talker. I mean considering the Christian that you are....

LOL.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is actually on the mellow side for some of us! It's good to be informed, or reminded, that NYS has disguised slot machines standing in for VP. Just this silver lining is valuable.

Years ago when Florida had VLT's a friend of mine who was worth hundreds of millions of dollars loved to play the slots in Florida. He would hit the machines for a few thousand and tell me about it but I never told him that the machines were not "Vegas Style" machines. He was happy and I figured as long as he was happy why should I confuse the issue.

My wife and I also play because we find VP entertaining and relaxing. A concept Bob cannot grasp.

Congrats on your win - a win is a win is a win -no matter what kind of machine.Question for the experts - are the videopoker machines at the Turning Stone Class II or Class III? My sister plays slots there frequently and loves the place. It is a Native American Casino. I may visit her late this summer and will probably gamble at the Turning Stone. I will play slots if the the videopoker is Class II.Anyone know?BTW - did I use the right term - Native American?

@Alpax - When people are nasty, inflammatory and insulting, I return the favor. That is the case with Mr. Dancer. You only need to look at past posts of his. I post on this venue the same as everyone else. I don't seek special attention. We don't often win, and for me as a nickel player, this was a big deal.
Understood, notes/otabill does have a good point that different people have different reasons for playing the game. As long as one enjoys it, it is all that matters. I apologize for questioning your purpose, the title is great and does grab attention, so that is where my thinking of attention seeking comes from. Vman has been polite (Bob Dancer is not so much, and there are many people who will never admit to any wrong doing) for the most part here due to the audience of the posters, but I lurk in the Wizard of Vegas forums where things get a little more loose.
I have learned to accept criticism even if it may comes out harsh, as long as it is constructive and serves as good advice.
But I also wasn't going to let the biggest load of bull**** in the video poker world go blissfully ignored.
That was the biggest and most useful point I got out of this entire thread, many times racinos are mentioned and it cannot be stressed enough. Although I do not play video poker professionally, I am the type that wants to play as serious as possible and count me in as an undergrad of Bob Dancer's school. I cannot work the comp system at the casino to fulfill the degree requirements.

NY Native American casinos like Turning Stone should offer Vegas Style VP since they have Class III compacts with the state. Why the state doesn't allow the same for their own racinos is dumbfounding to me, especially since they allow e-table games that behave like Vegas. Politicians will be politicians I guess.
Sorry to hijack your thread further luvs.
