Have a Five Hour Energy drink. Prepped to bang. It was only 1 PM anyway, so he was raring to go. The Touchers are another PITA, arms jarring my peripheral vision. I just pray they do not sit next to me.

Sometimes I'll have no choice but to be a button banger because the buttons on my machine are unresponsive and won't register a hold unless I hit it harder than normal. I hate doing that though, so if I can move to a better-working machine, I will as soon as possible.

I have a theory on this that developed years ago by watching a woman play at Harrahs LV.  It was before TITO and when they had machines lining the sides of the escalator going upstairs.  She was older (I say now at 66 :) and looked ragged.  Looked like a local. She was a banger, who had no desire to know what the result was of her bang. When she won, the quarters spewed out. She wanted none of that, was very impatient, couldn't wait till she could bang again.  My theory became bangers are not there to have fun or enjoy. They are extremely addicted and are past getting positive feelings from watching the deal, holding cards and watching the draw.  They need the FEEL too, maybe even the SOUND of the bang.  They need all fo their senses involved.  Let's hope they don't start LICKING the buttons

Just came back from Tunica. May have heard the worst one I have ever run across at Roadhouse. Could hear slapping away from a few rows down...

Was he by chance wearing a headband and wristbands, I know of a button banger I run into in Tunica on occasion. The guy looks to be in his early 30's and is goofy as can be, I have no idea what the purpose of the headbands and wristbands are for other than he may build up quite a sweat beating on the machines the way he does. I know of one casino he was banned from because they ask him nicely to quit pounding on the machines, his reply was, "I put my money in the machine and I'll play it anyway I please", the casino didn't agree and he was escorted out the door never to return.

But buttons are by far the prevailing preference of players. Why jab at the screen when the options are already conveniently at your fingertips?

AC casinos are pretty liberal. In NYC players have been banned, but only for actually breaking screens after suffering extensive losses. Video lottery systems and crime never pay.

But I got a button banger three seats away. Every card hold and draw was an opportunity to pulverize his buttons, his paw raining down about a foot.

Almost as bad are the players that have to knock on the screen every spin for luck. At least they don't damage the machines for other players.

I've never had a screen knocker. They must be asking permission for luck. Yesterday I had the old story of wife sitting next to husband playing. He would draw and she chose holds. I asked her to get up to play. She did, then reached over husband's shoulder for every hold like a third arm. I broke even for twenty hands and left.
