Re: How Much is Enough?
]i won't question your math, but i would gladly welcome an average loss per day of $225 loss. would enjoy a poll of those VP players who go to AC, biloxi and tunica and see what the average loss per day was. the casinos would not be funding these 'flying brink's trucks'' if they did not pay for themselves
I can't speak to AC, Biloxi, or Tunica, since we don't go on junkets to those places. I can, however, talk about our Laughlin trips.
We have been to Laughlin 17 times over the last 7 1/2 years. We normally fly from Buffalo.
I have come out ahead on 4 of those trips, and a loser the other 13. My best trip was +$2175, and my worst -$2070. Average win was $1460, and average loss $730. Overall, I am down $3680 for the 17 trips. Given that each trip comprises 3 or 4 gambling days, my average loss per day is between $60 and $70.
In return, I have had complimentary lodging for 70 -75 nights, 17 complimentary round trip air fares and many complimentary meals.
I do not have my wife's detailed results in front of me, but I strongly feel that, overall, she has done better than I have, particularly since our most recent trip was the trip of a lifetime for her, at +$12000.
I do not doubt for a second that Caesars runs these junkets because they make money for them. They have not made it from us.

omt, congrats on your good fortune, hope it continues. on another post, i mentioned that i have also received many junket offers to non vegas, nevada destinations.in my comments about average loss, i specifically left out nevada properities. i agree that they would not offer these trips without making money from them. maybe all there winning comes from slot players, and they lose on VP players, but i doubt it.

Given current conditions, I believe an intelligent video poker player can do OK, overall, on these Laughlin junkets. I don't mean to say "winning a lot", or even just winning, but getting fair value for their play. Isn't that what we all want?
Most of the folks on these trips are not video poker players.

omt, cannot argue with the success, or more importantly, the great value you have gotten. getting value has been my main focus, since i first began posting here. well done! as mentioned before, i did leave nevada properties off my list of destinations that i would be concerned about. i believe gaming is such an important part of their economy and a loss of reputation and trust would cause such a loss of tax revenue, they are the one state that could not risk damaging that trust. there is one main reason i have not taken advantage of these same offers. i can be very disciplined about how often i go to the casino, but i have a lot less discipline when i begin playing. and, if i was there for 5 days, on a bad streak, i fear i would exceed my acceptible loss limit. it is my own self imposed ban that i put i put on myself. you may or may not be winning money from them , but i would definitely call your trips a success, they ae not making money off you.
