Re: Riddle Me This
If someone wants to believe there is a conspiracy, you will never convince them otherwise, because every explanation is just another level of the conspiracy.
Well said!
This happened at the Hollywood Hard Rock real early in the morning last week. The manager and a slot attendant were taking notes on each machine and moving down the row. I have no idea what period of time the numbers were calculating but they were all in the millions. I was surprised to see that they had each game broken down separately.   As I recall, deuces had the highest payback. This makes sense as the Hard Rock deuces games are pretty decent.  The Keno paybacks were in the 60-70% range. I wish I could have spent more time looking but they were moving pretty fast.  They didn't seem to mind that I was looking.Â
If keno was really that low, you probably should turn them in. The Seminole compact with Florida expects all machines to return 85%+ longterm. I would be surprised they were that low...even the crustiest of addicts would likely quit with a payback in the 60s.
If keno was really that low, you probably should turn them in.
I don't believe the overall long term payout for Keno was that low for the entire Hard Rock, but it was kind of an eye opener. I was only looking at a few machines and like I said I have no idea what period of time the numbers I saw covered. Keno is a high variance game anyway and I assumed the machines I was looking at hadn't had a big hit in a while. I'm OK with the conspiracy folks. They can believe what they want. However, I do have a hard time understanding why someone would continue to play if they thought the games were actually rigged? Personally, I don't think they are rigged and I don't believe there is any conspiracy involved here. What's negatively affecting player's results in recent years is all about reduced odds and higher variance games. Using traditional strategy to pump hundreds if not thousands of dollars into an old or new negative expectation video poker machine waiting for a Bob Dancer moment can only end badly.

If someone reads that someone in a casino somewhere in the world "rigged" a machine they then believe it means all machines are "rigged" in every casino...especially where they live.
Like Phil I also can not believe any one who would continue to dump thousands of dollars into a machine if they believe it was rigged. But then again if you are a compulsive gambler I suppose you would play regardless of your outcome or beliefs.
I still hear people say we never did land on the moon.

Car, congratulations on the two 2015 Borgata Royal Flush banner days. Unfortunately, down $2.500 hardly a banner year. I have been pretty successful getting my Phil on the low roller side, all on quarter level. The quads and higher arrive for me, on or ahead of schedule. Swiss watches are jealous. Excellent day yesterday. Borgata $43 net. Losing $30 at start was very disturbing, but I simply assumed that a winning cycle with a quad to break even was imminent. The venue has always been a square dealer. I
got the missing J hearts for a $50 straight flush. Queen high and my
favorite suit; makes a nice photo. It's been six months since Straight Flush pal has come over. What a great reunion. Ten percent of the win went to the AC
Jitney Association for my RT. I stayed after the SF to procure jitney money. Sure enough, a $4.50 two coin full house. If only I had incentive to stay and play. Black Card is a pipe dream.

'somewhere in the world', in all three cases took place in nevada. and, to refresh the memories of those who may have forgotten, it was never suggested or stated, that 'something different about the machines' was universal. only that in some jurisdictions, it had happened before and it could happen again. as to the labels about conspiracy and compulsive gambler, if that means i like to play VP and do not believe everything i am told, guilty as charged. my record of play and duration is available for all to see, still waiting for the self proclaimed, spend more time in a casino than anyone on this site, to do the same.

I was beginning to wonder about these server based Game Kings based on my quad droughts. Then I saw the woman hit 2 royals within an hour and figured ok, that shouldn't happen if the games were rigged. I'll be going back and providing some updates. Bottom line is if I thought the games weren't fair, I wouldn't play.

Yeah, that woman's luck still astounding! You're somehow in a rut. I would have stayed longer yesterday, but a one in 9100 hand was such a dizzying thrill. And it almost paid the same as my one coin RF two weeks ago. I had a drink, made a few bucks for my commute and left the lovely premises. If Borgata has a server, it I love the service.

I hit four $4,000 single line royal flushes in 24 hours back in 2008. I guess that makes me luckier than the lady in this story.

A straight flush and I'm just about out the door mollifying the VP fates with my humble thanks. This board is absolutely stone cold hard core with cast iron stomachs.

That is quite good. I once had 2 royals and an aces with a kicker for a total of 7k in one afternoon.
