When you quoted me, you left out the qualifier "for a quarter player." The best game at M is 8/5 Aces Bonus (i.e. regular Bonus Poker with sequential ACES paying 4000) for quarters and dollars. Otherwise single-line Bonus Poker up to $10 is the best game.  . I don't know how much you have to play to get a free room for a week, but it's probably a lot of play for a quarter player --- when you have essentially the same game at home.according to vpfree2.com, both Argosy and Ameristar in Kansas City offer 9/7 DB (99.11%) for quarters.

Right. For a quarter player.

At M, I play dollars. Spouse plays quarters. The games we play, such as Deuces Bonus, or DDB, pay much better at M.

We are given comped a two room suite, and sometimes a flat suite, for the week. Food: $200 per day.
Transport to/from McCarran. Concert tix, if there is a show at the horrific airplane hanger (the M Pavilion). Besides our mailers for free play, free buffets, we earn cash back, which is typically upwards of $600 by the time of checkout. Then, there are the countless promotions and giveaways.

Comparison: Play at Ameristar, dollars, on a worse pay table (50 for a straight flush on DWB, instead of 65 at M), for hours and hours: earn $2.33 cash back. Yes, TWO DOLLARS and 33 cents. And, not enough comps for even one free buffet.

No thanks. I'll be patient and wait for Vegas.

The sole reason for my trips to LV was to play games at 99%+ pay tables. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Good grief. Even with all the feedback, I didn't  how good I have it until this succinct nugget. AC is just two hours away! I should probably be playing longer than the couple of hours a visit. But that keeps me content before the third hour kicks in. That's usually give back and go negative time!

Assuming that means exactly $600, that means he played $200,000 coin-in given the rate there.The games he is playing return less than 99% (basically all of them do at the M), so assuming a 1.2% house edge, that's an expected loss of $2,400 offset by the $600 in free play. Assuming $100 a day for the room and $200 for the food, so far he's paying retail for his six-day trip. Actually he's probably getting a suite for the cost of a regular room --- but he's eating in the same restaurants every night. If you're a drinker, you can go through $200 per day, but that's a LOT of food for two people.It's not a terrible deal, although not for me. Just a bit more expensive of six days of $250 daily loss in Florida, but at least he doesn't have to write lengthy daily posts justifying how smart his technique is every day!Of course the South Point (also with free transportation from the airport) has games that are a full percent looser with essentially the same slot club. He would get some food, but likely not $200 a day. Still, for $2,000 less in expected loss for that much play, he could afford to buy some of his own meals.

Right, I should have figured that out myself. However, if he normally gets double points for his videopoker play like we do, that would equate to $100,000 of play.

I was going to ask if double points were eligible on the 25-13-4-3-3-1-1 Bonus Poker. If 200 dollars of food per day was not enough, they can exchange their $600 for $1200 more food as an Executive Director or ICON tier member. Wonder if they go on the carnival cruise as part of the benefit.

Thanks Doug onemoretry and Mr. Dancer for the insight on the M Resort. I was thinking along those lines and it's worth a serious consideration now.

That is correct Ted, the M Resort is part of Marquee Rewards as Penn National Gaming took over operations from the Marnell family. It is called Executive Producer, it has been a while since I last checked up on their casino club.

It takes 125,000 tier points ($125k coin in on Video Poker and/or slots) over a 6 month span to reach there and 400,000 tier points to reach the highest level which is ICON. I know I mentioned that the benefits of being in Executive Producer tier is tremendous, being able to use points to get 50% off meals is one of them.

Based on DougJ described, it sounds like one or two of those trips will be good enough to retain Executive Producer tier.

I will admit that I laughed on that one. DDB is also mentioned and they have 9/6 for quarters as well as 9/5 with a progressive.

The food offers could be pretty excessive since there is also Studio B buffet passes for people who play with their Marquee Rewards card. I do not want to rub people the wrong way if they choose to use up the full potential of the food offers.
