Re: Saw A Huge Win Today
It must be nice to consider a 99.5% game bad. What a market.

i thought the entire premise of the dancer followers, of which you are a member, was to only support the facts ]
I am definitely not a "dancer follower", but I do support the facts. You are suggesting that supporting the facts is a bad thing?

I said good and smart players could beat VP. I did not say all good and smart players could beat the game. Of course you must have the pay tables and benefits that go along with that theory. Most areas in the USA have lousy, unbeatable games and it does not matter how good you are, you will take a beating over long turn.My reference to Dancer was that many people on this forum are convinced he, or anybody else can not beat the game. I never said Dancer makes his living off VP, only that I believe he and a few others can and do come out ahead on VP.
I never said Dancer makes his living off VP, only that I believe he and a few others can and do come out ahead on VP.
I also believe this to be true. After much painful coaxing, we were able to uncover exactly how this is done. Bob Dancer plays the right games perfectly, but he utilizes the comp system extensively to turn a profit. I suspect there are a few players on this forum that can match his play skill, but not his intimate knowledge of how to take significant advantage of comps. I also suspect this knowledge is a moving target. Unless you can spend your entire waking life studying offers and putting yourself in an advantaged position, you are probably going to lose long term. The genius of Bob Dancer is not in his deal finger, it's in his knowledge and relentless pursuit of comps and offers that turn his games positive.

Good and smart players, plus, with a bit of luck occasionally too.

All good points, I for one do believe players and opportunities do exist in which certain players can beat the system on a consistent basis, just not here. I would love to see a player with the talent and experience Dancer has tackle the machines and system we have in this area, no doubt he would probably fare better than myself but to see them turn a profit would blow my mind. I'm using all the tools available to me, all my experience, all the free play, all the comps and I can't even manage to scare the advertised payback on the machines. For 17 years running I had zero reason to complain, I would get my year end statement and I would be slightly below, right at, or on occasion above the payback percentage for the games I played. When the wife and I visited the Peppermill recently I felt like I had went back in time, a time in which each and every casino in this area was like them.

I think the problem you have with Dancer is that he proves that good and smart players can actually beat video poker.
interesting, a poster who has played for years can state that a casino(s) does not seem to be delivering results that correlate to advertised pay tables and they are admonished. poor play, faulty memory or a conspiracy theorist, are the typical labels made for the heresy of making any accusation against a casino. but, another poster can simply state they are a winner, and you have deemed them to have proven they can beat VP. you state you deal in facts, i await the proof that someone is consistently beating the casinos at VP, in the current era of reduced paytables and comps.

If my year end statement has me even at my primary 2015 casino, I will do a jig the entire length of the AC boardwalk. This will make evading the panhandlers all the more easy as well.

I am in total agreement that Bob Dancer would not be able to survive on 99% of today's video poker games and comps. I'm sure he would be the first to say that he would never play most of them. A playable opportunity for a professional only exists if the right combination or the game and comps makes it an advantage for the player. Those opportunities do exist, but I doubt the average player will find any at your neighborhood casino. I most certainly have never seen any.As far as the fairness of games goes, I do believe some rigged games exist. More common is a casino where the odds are so bad no manner of winning will ever overcome them. My feeling about this is to vote with my feet and stop playing at those casinos. If I lived in AC for example and I seriously thought the games were rigged, I would save my money and play where I thought they were fair. If you're like me and you are hooked on video poker and need to play frequently, play on this website. We're going to play video poker all of Christmas week, but we're going to a casino that values our business enough to provide decent low denomination games that are honest.

AC is selectively fair. Buyer beware.
