The bottom line is it shouldn't cost much to play, I can finish my
errands, listen to some nice Christmas music, and catch some good late
night snacks too.
Sounds pretty good to me.  We'll be at the Hard Rock in Hollywood next week.  Merry Christmas!!

When I play Deuces Wild or Bonus Deuces Wild, I do play the CS methodology except I start with max coin quarters and $100 each time as opposed to single coin quarters and $20.

It does mean I have to make 5 times less frequent casino visits to a point where I can amass the budget to play CS at slightly higher stakes. I do value the comps (free lunch) I get for the coin in I put in.

I do have discipline now and days to play finite amount of rounds per visit when playing CS starting at max quarters.

CS means you do not have to bet single coin quarters, you can do max quarters to max dollars to even max 5 dollars and enjoy the fun experience FP.

I often change denomination depending upon the pay schedules or how I'm doing that particular day. CS is exciting no matter what the denomination. Three of my $1,000 plus jackpots this year came playing CS on $5 machines. You need a lot of discipline to play $5 CS. To make this work you must bet small, set and keep strict limits on how much you are going to risk and walk on every jackpot. I don't recommend getting into this if you have self control issues. However, when you're not worrying about the math so much, video poker becomes much more entertaining. It's suppose to be recreation, not torture.

Phil, was looking for your web site where you had your game play/strategy posted. Can't seem to  find it?  Was telling some friends about it but could not totally remember everything.

I took it down a few months ago when Bob Dancer and I were trading insults. If you like I can repost it. CS is not about math, getting an edge, fractions of a percent hands or working comps for an advantage. CS is about limiting losses while retaining the possibility of a jackpot and having more fun for less money. Professional style video poker is not fun, I see it as mostly hard work for very little return and I've had enough of that in my life.

Thanks, I sure need the reminder. I did CS today. But on dollars, while woefully underfunded. Resolution One: I must start checking my morning winnings with my bag! This year was an endless Groundhog Day. I won $47 in the morning, including a $19 quad. But lost $80 in the afternoon at a supposedly safer venue. Same old drunken sailor routine while sober. JOB/DW bender at Borgata. I can't wait for their football promo to end.

Dollar CS can be addictive. I only play $1s on small pot shots or when the meter is over $25. It seems like if I start out with dollars, it practically never goes well. I think it's better to sneak up on jackpots than hit them with a hammer. (humor)

It was a foolhardy decision. Upon reflection, none of my dollar benders ever went well. My last one was nine months ago. The memories faded altogether too quickly. I should have run for Harrah's right after the promo.

What most players who are critical of CS miss is that there is absolutely no conflict between professional and recreational play strategy. CS is strictly a recreational play strategy with completely different goals. Much financial pain and heartache is caused by recreational players attempting to use professional strategies without the opportunities and skills of a professional. At the end of the day most video poker is recreation with a cost, it's up to you to decide what you are willing to pay for the experience.
