I have found that when your playing a game with deuces wild and your are dealt deuces without a winning hand, hold only the deuce(s), which is one of the max payouts anyway if you hit 4 or 5 of them. Often the game will deal a winning hand.

Deuces Wild strategy is much different than quad based video poker games.  If you want to get the best return, I suggest you purchase good training software like Bob Dancer's Video Poker for winners or go Gold on this website.   There is no way to wing deuces wild on your own and expect to get anywhere near the posted return.  I'm strictly a recreational play and I love deuces.   If the odds were the same, it's the only game I would ever play.

I agree at the Aquarius in Laughlin NV I held one deuce got the other 3 for 5 k. And at the encore in Vegas held an ace got 4 deuces for a 1000 $ you just never know when good luck to you all .

Deuces Wild is one of the most enjoyable and exciting of all video poker games.  The variance is much better than DDB which means you can normally play the game much longer with the same money.  The quad deuce mini jackpot shows up about once a day and a natural royal is about the same frequency as the other games.  If you like games with streaks, you'll love this game.  As a recreational player, I like to increase my bet on these streaks and have done well with this strategy over the years.  This may not be the optimum strategy from a math standpoint and it requires a bigger bankroll and more risk, but It pays off frequently enough to keep me in the game. We love Deuces Wild and rarely play anything else.As I stated above, it's very important to learn the correct strategy for this game.  It's not difficult, but is much different than quad based games and not what you would think up on your own.

So hard to just hold the deuce or even deuces when down big and presented with four of a kind. I'll do it while playing for free; bankroll heavy game. Big mistake playing dollar level. I will just stick to vanilla JOB and hope for an RF to break even on the year again.
