Re: Anyone play Bonus Deluxe?
I have yet to see anyone in the high limit room for more than 5 minutes.
I have also noticed this. Several of the high limit rooms in Biloxi have the worst paytables in the casino.FP, any chance you remember the old Treasure Bay pirate ship casino before Hurricane Katrina? It was the only casino I ever hit a progressive in.

It was sad to see it rolled over in the parking lot after Katrina. Biloxi changed after Katrina in more ways than storm damage. I think they brought in a bunch of bean counters who told them they could recover their storm losses by raiding slot players. They cut all the video poker down by 2% and from I've been told the regular slots are a wasteland. You are right about the high limit room. The Beau Rivage has 7/5 DDB games from $5 and up. There is no strategy that can make that game playable except RUN! I hate knocking Biloxi. My wife and I love the people and have had some great times at the Beau. We have to drive 9 hours just to get there, but it used to be worth it. When the odds are so awful that my wife won't play them, it's bad. We would go back if they offered something worth playing for.

In on of my very RARE positive memories from Atlantic City playing video poker, in late 2011 and the first half of 2012, there were Four (4) Five Star Game machines in Caesars-AC right in front of the old Horse Racing PArlor near the front of the casino.....on these machines was dreamcard, single line, at .25 .50 and $1. From december 2011 thru june 2012 I had a good run (pretty much my ONLY extended "run" ever in AC) playing the single line 25 cent dreamcard games, choosing the 8/6 BDLX (which was later downgraded to 8/5 once I started winning a few sessions) more often than all the other selections available. One of the four machines really seemed to go on these quad "fits", where you'd catch many dreamcarded quads, or where the dreamcard would give you trips and then your draw seemed to bring the fourth "whatever" pretty often......I calculated a actual profit during this seven month span of nearly 1200 bucks off of a LOT of coin in, which propelled me to Diamond status for that year almost solely on the basis of my play on these four Five Star machines!!! I had several friends and relatives (who also had a couple of their friends), a total of 6 other people, who I KNOW experienced very good success on these machines in and around this same time, most of which was also playing Dreamcard Single Line 25 cent BDX.And then, the inevitable AC "fishy shenanigans" took place......starting the week of the Fourth of July, 2012, the game(s) simply stopped giving much of anything, literally eating deposited money like Augustus Gloop consumed Willy Wonka's Chocolate River. From July 2012 until Caesars rid themselves of the four star machines to make way for the Server Based travesties which now populate their casino floors, all of us lost an excessive amount, literally NOTHING coming back in any way shape or form.....the contrast was so stark, it is one of the primary reasons I truly started to have my outlook on AC video poker in general shaped to the extent it is today.

I've heard that same story from a number of players around the country. I don't think Atlantic City is alone in this. Over the past three years the only way we have been able to stay close to even is to play as cheap as possible. At the moment we are doing OK and the free rooms and small comps are still coming. If we were still playing the way we did back in 2008, we would have quit the game by now.

I guess what I'm having a hard time figuring out is if all of the nay Sayers specifically DB, not so much FP [who has his own agenda], why would you EVER play VP in any casino who you say has fixed it so you can't win? I think it is just ponderous that people come on this site and state that the casinos that they play in are impossible to win in and yet continue to play and complain.

It's part of the game and there is a cost to all recreation so they are OK with it. My wife and I find video poker relaxing and we enjoy staying at great resorts where we can spend quality time together. What we aren't buying is the idea that anyone can make money at this game long term. If others believe it that's fine, but we aren't throwing away a bunch of our money to prove it right or wrong. To us video poker is a fun relaxing video game and nothing else. If it's rigged, so be it. If it's fair, that's OK too. What we don't want is to get sucked into a dream that will do nothing but depress us and make us feel stupid.

What does that even mean, I guess your referring to Mr. Dancer who the last I read is the ONLY one that makes a living out of VP, the rest of us are recreational players. But when you complain about lack of royals, lack of 4oak, years between royals etc., how the hell can that be fun and relaxing. Counting hands played blah, blah get over it. If it is that much of a chore GIVE IT UP. Find a new hobby or stop complaining.

I understand telling people you feel this way is unpopular. Players
want to believe they can beat the casino. The casinos spend millions
selling this idea to players. Some people have figured out how to
profit from the casino dream and have gotten rich themselves. Why do I
care? For over 10 years I was one of the dreamers. I had some great
days, but in the end I lost enough money to buy a nice house. This
forum needs to hear both sides of the story. Sometimes your dream can
turn into a nightmare. If this makes you uncomfortable, perhaps you should try to understand why.You are probably right, I am wasting too much time on this forum. No one wants to hear about rigged machines or broken dreams, we all want to hear about big jackpots and living in the high roller suite. Sit back and enjoy.

Doesn't make me uncomfortable at all, makes me think that anyone who has those thoughts should visit a psychiatrist as soon as possible because they have some serious issues that should be addressed, and if they feel they will get those issues resolved on this site, well God Bless Them.
