Nice... I think this discussion has escalated to a point where I am done.  When someone brings God into a discussion of video poker, it's clearly gone too far.  Have a nice day.

for decades i listened to folks tell me they were 'living for today', and if over spending, over borrowing and under savings was the way to do it, too bad. many of these same people only wanted to be around and hear from others with a  'positive' attitude. they did not want a reality check. all that all came crashing down in 2008 and eight years later, we are all still paying for it.  most recent quarterly US GDP- 0.7%, JAPAN going to negative interest rates, average household income still below 2006 and average home price below 2006. this is what all that postive outlook will get you when you fight two wars without paying for them, giving government workers benefits that cannot be paid for, when one uses their home as a piggy bank and on and on. but, they were all positive when they did it. and, now who if left having to pay for all of it, not the irresponsible folks, they have no money.   the same goes for VP. even if one believes dancer's own numbers and i do not, 85-90% of VP players, LOSE MONEY. i/m/o, any conversation about gambling, should also include a warning that negative results are to be expected. no different than a cigarette pack including a warning or a presriprtion drug with a warning. so maybe it it is the folks who only want to hear postive stuff, who should be seeking mental heath assistance.

Your level of comprehension is obviously lacking, it wasn't about God and VP it was more about your obsession.

"so maybe it it is the folks who only want to hear postive stuff, who should be seeking mental heath assistance."

Sorry that doesn't fly either, like I said it's just ponderous reading the same crying, complaining about how bad everything is but STILL going back for more. Now you tell me who needs help.
so maybe it it is the folks who only want to hear postive stuff, who should be seeking mental heath assistance.
This is not the discussion we should be having on this forum.   My post that you so strongly objected to had to do with the games in AC.   I have never played in AC, but many players that do have stated time and time again that they think the games are unfair.   If you read my response again, you will see that I don't care as I only play video poker for entertainment.  Who cares anyway?   Players will play video poker no matter what the cost as long as they win once in a while. As far as Bob Dancer is concerned, I personally believe he is the worst kind of profiteer imaginable.  It's one thing to waste your productive time on earth playing slot machines in a casino and another thing to make money selling the idea that a professional video poker player can make six figures a year.  I tolerated him for a long time as he has become some kind of hero on this forum and I didn't want to rock the boat.  What sent me over the edge was his article about the question of his daughter marrying a professional gambler.  Whoever you are, if you have kids this was despicable and showed the lengths he would go to make a buck.  I'm sure he will come back with some clever comments aimed at me personally and I'm also sure his dependents will chime right in.  Bring it on....

Look, video poker is not rocket science.  It doesn't take a genius to figure out that casinos are built by losers and winning is not tolerated for long.   This stuff is so basic, it could be taught to first graders.  All I'm trying to do is to put video poker in the right prospective.   It's a video game that's rigged in the casino's favor.  It may say 100% game all over it, but it most likely won't be when you play it.

a casino owners dream come true, those who sell the mirage that there are bunch of players beating the house. one would think with all those winners in AC, that casino revenues would be up, instead of nearly half of what they were in 2006, and the number of casinos keeps dropping. i know i stopped going there, as did many others, not because carrying home all our winnings was too difficult. and, ISIS is still the jv team.

I would say that the most subliminal messages (or the selling dreams part as some people refer to) that I know of comes from the video poker for winners software site run by Action Gaming (who also run this site). I do not think Mr. Dancer publishes Million Dollar Video Poker novel if that opportunity still exists today.

Video Poker for Winners Videos

I am sure this was video was taped long time ago and since the market has changed so much where it is harder if not impossible to achieve what Action Gaming is trying to sell to people.

All you need to do is go to BobDancer.com.  Right in front of you in colorful graphics is the words "Video Poker for Winners" with a smiling woman holding a big handful of money.  Who wouldn't want to be like her?  The idea is to sell you that Bob Dancer has some exclusive knowledge that will make you rich playing video poker.  At the heart of his marketing is his frequent and assertive claims of making millions playing the game.   If he is in fact making millions playing video poker, why would be care in the slightest that someone even mentions playing single coin quarters on this forum?   Could it be because this idea is contrary to his "secret strategy" of betting bigger,  which is exactly what he is getting paid to promote? Casinos exist, gamblers will always gamble, some will win and some will lose. The likelihood that you will make money gambling is slim.  I clearly understand the odds and make the decision to play as cheap as possible.  This works for us and lets us play all the video poker we want with practically no cost.

"Some people have figured out how to profit from the casino dream and have gotten rich themselves. Why do I care?   For over 10 years I was one of the dreamers."

Seems to me that Bob Dancer is living YOUR dream and that really seems to bother you.
