Re: Any guesses....???
DaBurglar I knew you'd manage to bring up New England in your taxable post.
How dare you say that criticism of Cam Newton is racist. He is a talented football player but he is also a childish player who pouted and walked out of his interview last night when he was questioned about his play. A shining example? NOT!!!
I will never get used to a player with his attitude and as I said before: if Carolina did play New England in the Super Bowl, Carolina would have won the game.

Be careful FAA, we might be accused by DaBurglar of calling that game the: Mason-Dixon Bowl...

It's all good, Doris. That's what this forum is all about; people reply and put their opinions/spins on the thread. Frankly, I find it all usually amusing and fun reading. Sometimes, very funny stuff

DB, racism, come on. Cam Newton was the one who injected race into this. He needs to grow up period. By the way I thought the funniest thing I saw all night was Papa John running up to Peyton, in his trademark red shirt and giving him a kiss after the game. WTF was he doing on the field? Excuse me, now I have to order a pizza from Dominos.

Actually just saw a replay for the first time. I was wrong, Peyton kissed Papa John. The NFL is for sale.

And after hearing his post game interview giving Budweiser some great free publicity, I'm thinking he'll be the star of next year's Super Bowl commercial. He'll be atop a Clydesdale while slugging his favorite brew.

db,maybe your group of friends thinks racism but no one else does.galey, i'm sorry to say someone did ruin this thread.Of course you do realize that most people guilty of even a little racism will swear up and down that they are not racist....I did not exactly expect people to suddenly have a crisis of conscience and admit it....I'm just pointing out that the fact the guy is african american, AND extremely extremely talented, at a position that is, and has been, almost exclusively dominated by white men, makes many people uncomfortable and makes them hypercritical of every little faux pas the guy commits.....I never said, nor would say Cam Newton is perfect, or a wonderful exemplary selfless human being.....no NFL quarterback is.....even Peyton Manning, Mr. "Classy" is actually incredibly wealthy due in no small part to his willingness to shill for and advertise just about anything and anyone willing to pay his incredibly high fees. To say Cam newton is more egotisitical or selfish than any other NFL player (black, white, hispanic or otherwise) is just not true.....the vast majority of NFL players tend to be on the side of egotistical, entitled and self centered when it comes to life in general....thanks to a culture that puts star athletes on a pedestal, give them special treatment and outrageous fortune, but then relishes the DRAMA when one of them goes bad or does something unfortunate. Sorry if you feel I ruined the thread Doris.......I just have this to say. TOO BAD.....it was not my intention to do so,

Racism is an easy excuse for some people. I'm white and grew up in the housing projects in Queenns NY. 64 years old now. Experienced racism 50 years ago. No, not white on black, the other way around. Don't know where you grew up DB, but it wasn't in my neighborhood. Don't blame every black person for it, but have a feeling you grew up in a nice Lilly white New England town. Please tell me I'm wrong.
