Losing streak. How long will it last???????
Ive been playing VP for about 2 years now and have pretty good results. But over the last two weeks ive lost close to 600 per day I play .50 single TDB at a casino in nothwest indiana were it is a 99.58 pay back it's been so bad ive bounced aroud the other local casinos with way worst pay tables but no luck I guess im really just trying to vent. Is this ever going to end. Feel free to chime in with your worst loosing streaks and any advice for a fairly new player

I may not be the best person to offer advice as I have only been playing seriously for a couple of years myself. Most of my play was DDB. One of the things that I have learned, which you may already know, is that different games have widely different variances. TDB has one of the highest. If you have other games available to you with good paytables and lower variances you could spend some of your time playing these games. In case you don't know when a game has a lower variance the game tends to be more stable and less subject to big losing and winning streaks. After reading posts from another poster, FloridaPhil, I decided to learn Airport Deuces because it has a lower variance than DDB. I now spend about 10-15% of my play on this game. I am also learning JoB which has the lowest variance of the games I know. I am beginning to see that I can often play longer on the same budget.Hope this helps and I hope things turn around for you soon.

First, welcome tot the forum. Second, welcome to what I call the "law of averages". A couple of thoughts. As Mr. Dawes stated you are playing one of the most volatile games - TDB, It close to Russian Roulette IMHO.
My strategy is to play low volatility high return games like Deuces Wild or DW variants or other low volatility games-JOB, Bonus. My goal is to stay around long enough to finally get the big hit. A Royal Flush on DW pays the same 4K as a RF on TDB. But, generally I can play a whole lot more hands of DW than TDB for the same bank roll.
Second, streaks of poor timing always come and streaks of winning always seem too short. Last spring I played a session where almost all of my bank roll went before my dinner break playing every DW game I could. My timing was so off, it seemed I couldn't draw two cards of the same color. After dinner I tried the same machine and was dealt a $10K Royal Flush on 50 hands of 5¢ DW within just a few minutes of returning. Later that night I caught 3 RF hand playing about 15 hands of 25¢ VP and finished the night up almost $15K. The next week I was dealt Quad Deuces on DW 100 hand 5¢ for $5K followed the next few weeks with multiple $1K Royals on 25¢ VP. My play then evened out up and down for weeks until the late fall. The law of averages caught up with me and I didn't hit a big hand for weeks.
Enjoy the good times and try to eliminate the bad times by altering your games, denomination, or just getting away for a while.
Good luck and welcome again to the forum.

I agree Larry I don't bother with TDB and DDB its just to hard to hit the good hands to even you out. Volatile games are great when you get on a roll but when they go bad its all bad and you must have a Big bankroll to ride them out.

Even JOB evens out. Alas, my trusty old stand by is also a negative expectation game. But if I hit one a year I break even. Put the thrill seeking aside and concentrate on breaking even. Halve your denomination asap if you insist on those games. $600 a day has so many productive uses.

It actually brings most of the games offer to over 99% I hit quad 4s with kicker for a 1000 then hit to four of a kind on bounes round for 300 a piece long story short end of the day was up about 1300. Good way to go out. Now I have a? Would bounes poker b concerted a low volitlty game ? I have a cess to a 1 doller superpay machine that has a bonus poker game over 99%

Congratulations. You're singing a different tune now. Bonus Poker s definitely kinder and gentler on volatility, approaching JOB. Would make the switch.

I've been wanting to try dice fever at your local casino. It's the only place I'm aware of having it and it's also 30 minutes away from my g/f's parents house. haha
Bonus poker is low volatility but gimmick games generally add volatility.
