Gambler's Lock Box Week-4

Post by FloridaPhil »

Three weeks of 50 cent and dollar 98.9% Deuces Wild without a royal or a quad deuce and I'm ahead $100?  The box itself does nothing.  All it does is set a firm cash out limit and keep me from deviating from that position. Even though I'm playing at a higher denomination and running more money through the machines, the losses are not as big as I expected.  8,000 hands is not enough to prove anything, so we'll keep this up for a while to see if any trends become apparent. My point in all this is simple.  I believe that most of our loses are due to human factors, not the game itself.   This is one reason why the pros are so much better at the game.  If you play like a computer, you have half a chance.  If you play like a human being, you will lose no matter how good you are at picking the right cards.  The casino's edge is mostly in our heads.... For those who want proof, I'm going to post my results for a while.  The good, the bad and the ugly will be posted.   You could call it "The Amazing Shrinking Bankroll".  Here's where we are so far.

Racked up another 2,000 hands of Deuces Wild today without a quad deuce or a royal.   When the dust cleared I lost $200.  This puts me in the hole $100 since I started using the lock box four trips ago.  I'm encouraged by this result as one 50 cent quad deuce would have netted me an overall profit of $400 and a dollar quad $900.  I'm not think about royals at this point.   I've been around deuces long enough to know you need to be patient.   That payday is coming.  At the rate I've slowed my losses, I have no problem waiting it out.  Might make another trip later this week.

Good results for a stretch of no quad deuce or natural royal. The natural royal accounts for about 2% of the game return and the quad deuces is about 4% of the game return. So such a stretch on 98.91% Airport Deuces will return about 93% on average, the wild royals and 5 of a kinds will definitely have to appear more often.

I normally left the casino with a much lighter wallet during the horrid stretch.

Perhaps on a bankroll perspective, if you are going to play 10 hours of 50 cents Airport Deuces, you should use Video Poker for Winners to see how much to bring with you.

Although you lost at a $65 hourly rate (assumed 3 hrs), for max fifty cent play absent the big hands, that is not bad at all. My day trips are jam packed with gambling. I have been keeping my foot on the gas. I found myself playing craps to reconnect with people and levity. And it was half my profit on Sunday to boot.
