Am I Being Paranoid?
This year I have won a lot on 2 particular machines - at least 5 each $4,000 Royals and $4,000 Aces and many more $1,000 and have been dealt $2,000 hands on TDB triple play 3 times and $500 hands on quarter 5 and 10 play at least 4 plus aces dealt 4 or 5 times. Both of these machines were installed at the end of 2015 and most of the big deals have been close together. I've noticed lately that the guy who works on the machines is spending a regular amount of time standing against the wall behind me chatting with other men I don't recognize. I find it strange because he is normally running all over the place fixing things and I wonder if I'm being 'watched'. Do they do this?

[/quote]Casino workers witness players having runs of luck all the time, both good and bad. I doubt they've even noticed you have been winning unless you have become friendly with them or have been tipping them a lot. I had a similar thing happen to me last year. I believe they will remove a machine if the reports show they are out of spec.

Did you tip when you won those prizes? That would explain why he hoovers in your area, awaiting another tip.

If he is spending a regular amount of time then everything is normal

I do tip them well and am friendly with them all so maybe that's it. I guess I am just being paranoid. Thanks!

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

I wouldn't worry about it. It may just be a good location to talk if it is out of the way from the crowds.

Interesting but my winning streak is over and he's not hanging around anymore.

I'm a firm believer of trusting your own instincts; believe in yourself and don't be paranoid, just continue to do whatever you believe is the safest....

Trust your instincts. Getting alot of hand-pays and w2g's could attract attention, unfortunately could attract it to the wrong kind of guy (or gal). If I'm having a hot night and getting tons of hand pays, (which is rare since I mostly play quarters, but have played dollars and got 2 royals in a span of 20 minutes of each other, $8,000), look around. If somebody looks suspicious, ask for security escort to your car. Ask for a check, or check and cash. Reduce odds of being a victim. I do know people who have gotten robbed. Fortunately, they all did the right thing and gave them the money and called the cops later. No sense in being a dead hero.True story, hit a 3-line royal flush ($3,000) on a quarter dream card bonus poker game at the Cannery Casino in Vegas. I saw three black males with hoods sit about 30-40 feet from my right looking at me, looking away, talking but seemingly trying to look not suspicious. Of course, here comes the lady with the cash waving the cash all over the place and making me put out my hand for the casino to see. I looked her in the eye and said, I want security...NOW! Floorman calls security, two guys come, three black guys with hoods disperse, and they escorted me to my car and that was that. Did I prevent me getting robbed? It's hard to say. But always trust your instinct. Yes, we can be paranoid. But paranoia is a survival instinct and we can't always ignore or dismiss it away. We deal with jackpots and large amounts of cash, be safe and security minded. Capiche?
