Anyone that played any time at all on slot machines back when the "near miss" was allowed figured out quickly that it was meaningless. In fact, it became somewhat of a joke.

Whether the near miss was meaningless, a joke or everyone figured it out does not matter. They did it, they mislead folks, they made money off it and they paid no price for it.

And how would the near miss feature figure in with those players who stuck with a machine because they: "almost hit" and then did hit?

Excellent arguement. It is ok to attempt to deceive many, as long as someone may benefit. Sounds like the new obamacare video that just went viral.

While you believe the casinos would not engage in illegal acts,  would you concede that A casino might take advantage of any new technology or some area that is not covered by existing law, to their advantage?
I TOTALLY agree that it is feasible to build technology to do whatever you desire. I do not believe, however, that (A) it is in the casino's best business interest to have technology on their floor that does not conform to gaming regulations, and (B) if a 'rogue' casino decided to do it, even on only a handful of machines, I do not believe that some disgruntled employee of that casino would not sell that story to some publication in order to make some money.

OTABILL, thanks, that is quite an article. -the technology can be rigged-it can go on for years-multiple people can know about it and keep it a secret-it can happen right under the nose of securitybut, of course this could never take place i a casino. we can rest assured, all the machines are safe, honest and random.

Of course they could. But instead of conspiracy theories why not present some evidence that they do this?

Where exactly are your results not turning out like they should? 4 to a royal holds? 3 to a royal holds? Dealt royals?

The games are not rigged, they don't need to be.

The problem with this is that your data has to be a true living hell of losing for the "mathy types" like myself to believe you. Because many terrible losing streaks can be mathematically proven as "bad luck". And by default, I assume "internet exaggeration" before believing a "conspiracy theory". Nothing stopping people from lying. This is the only site I post at where is it a significant concern in my mind though. The other two sites I post more at have occasional complaints about bad luck, but not nearly as much.

Before Aug. 2015, I was definitely below average on Royals thanks to a 35 month drought, but I still knew I was within common expectation, so I didn't harp on it too much. But since then I have got 3 royals, and should be close to average now.
