Another Wack at Hard Rock Hollywood
Since returning from Blackhawk I haven't been back to the Hard Rocks and the mailers are piling up on my desk. I'm getting 3-4 cards a day plus comped rooms, so I booked a room next week in Hollywood. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive each way, but the DW odds are much better than Tampa. My son lives near the casino and I'm looking forward to having dinner with him. I haven't had a real royal since last November and according to the math I'm due. We'll see...

I don't even want to say join the club Phil. I am up to 271k hands since early Jan this year. Can you guestimate how many hands you have plsyed. That might make me feel a little better. I am surviving by continuing to work on hitting the quad deuces and betting what I need to be even or better when they hit. If I factor out the failed discipline sessions and there probably have been about 12, I would be even or better for the year even without the royals.

I would say I play a minimum of 3-5 thousand hands a week plus another 15-20K hands on our vacations which we take about every 3 months or so. I estimate my total hands played to be somewhere around 250-300,000 hands a year. I only play single line DW, so 3-4 royals a year is just about right. Since moving to max coins I don't play nearly as many hands. I watch my money and I am usually out of the casino on my week day trips in 2-3 hours. This cuts down the number of hands and my royals, but the ones I get count. I personally do much better long term playing single coin, but the short coin royals are brutal and the comps are nonexistent.

Thanks Phil. Looks like about 100-125k or so hands so far then or not quite half a year yet. Not too bad yet and I sure hope you don't get up to where I am at so far. Just for the heck of it, try and keep track roughly the longest you have gone without getting quad deuces. You might be able to adjust your bets a little so when the deuces hit, the damage won't be so bad. I have had no more that about 25k hands without the deuces and that is pretty rare for me. They when they come, you might hit them close together. Works for me anyway. Not enough to get ahead, just damage control. It is very hard to overcome the 2 percent damage from lack of Royals. Tell the Mrs. Happy Mother's Day from us.

Quad deuces are crazy. They never seem to show up when you want them to. Sometimes I can go for weeks without one, then get three in one day. The last trip to Blackhawk was terrible for me, but great for my wife. I couldn't do anything and she got all the hands. She pitied me and gave me some of her money (nice). I've done the same for her in the past. Playing as a team does have it's advantages. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.
Three quad deuces sure sounds like a banner day!
I think three quad deuces is the most I have ever had in one day. Some years ago I got three on the same machine in 20 minutes. That was nice...
