Re: Bonus Deuces Wild Paytable
Good find and choice of game given the situation with Caesars Entertainment. I was wondering if you were pursuing Diamond or Seven Stars status playing that game.
In addition to the 50 line 5c deuces wild bonus we also play 25c multiline airport deuces at Harrah's, usually triple line, sometimes five line, and, occasionally, if we are feeling really frisky, ten line.
And, Harrah's also offers single line 8/5 bonus poker at $1, $2, and $5 in the non smoking casino. I think, but am not sure, they may have some higher denomination 8/5 bonus in the high limit room.
That's why it puzzles me to read posts trashing Harrah's Laughlin video poker. It is not that bad, and it is all $10 per tier credit.
Those 50 line machines are absolutely gorgeous to play. They are of that new design with a slightly tilted screen, a desktop feel to the button layout, crystal clear graphics, and very comfortable chairs. Actually, pretty much all the video poker machines here are of that design.
As far as pursuing 7 star status, we did achieve that last year. But, the notion was not even in our mind until we saw that after three junkets, two to Laughlin and one to Tahoe, we were at around 135,000 tier credits. The Tahoe trip was particularly fruitful, from a tier credit point of view. We played a lot of 10 line 25c 9/6 JOB there.
Then, we did pursue 7 Stars. We had scheduled a Las Vegas trip and incorporated a three night visit to Laughlin. As bad luck would have it, that last 15000 tier credits cost about $3000!

I appreciate the response OMT.
Hopefully you will get a decent mailer offer by playing as much multi line as you have so far. I agree that 8/5 Bonus Poker will be the most cost efficient way to build status.
I think people are generally upset about Harrah's Laughlin or other locations since the mailer comps deteriorating and that 9/6 JOB is disappearing all over the place (8/5 Bonus is becoming the best). Also the quarter denomination have ugly pay tables and the most popular game DDB is probably set to 8/5. I think quarter DDB is a favorite to many.
As for the machine design, I too like the modern Game Kings and All Star Poker machines that the various Caesar's Entertainment places put in. The high definition LED screens are better for a person's eye than the old CRT ones I've seen in Vegas. Also it is faster and smooth.
I should have been specific if you were chasing the daily tier credit bonuses to help you reach diamond or 7 Stars.
1000 ($10k coin in) gives you extra 1000
2500 ($25k coin in) gives you extra 5000
5000 ($50k coin in) gives you extra 10000
I think your multiline play can at least get you to the 2500 TC mark. It is best to play to the threshold to get the most out of the bonus. There is also a Spring bonus going on that can help people reach higher status.
Sorry to hear about your loss trying to get the final tier credits to get in 7 Stars, but there is a world of differences in benefits. I know $3000 loss is possible on a bad day of a $50k coin in session (if you used the tier bonus to get from 5k -> 15k tier credits). You can get Caesars to pay for your trips to Vegas at the very least!
