Re: Quick Quads Strategy

Wow, those quick quad holds are more powerful than I thought then for a pair with qq to beat out 4 to a straight flush.

Thanks for the numbers, shadowman... you are amazing.

I'm really liking the strategy on this one so far because you can mostly play it like normal DDB until you see a shot at quick quads in these various ways. I'm sure there are other subtle changes too. At first I thought the quick quads would be more like a random bonus but now seeing that you should actually hold for them at times is a nice twist.

These quick quad hands do all give a much better return than without them so it will be interesting when the overall expected return for the machines comes out for the different pay tables to see how different it is with that one extra coin per bet. If it is a reasonable return then this would be a fun one to get into.

I don't see it draining my bankroll any more quickly than STP. It's the multiple lines that get you fast so you need to get some of those hits that bring your return back up.

I think the extra coin overpowers the QQs in general. I suspect that is one reason why the paytable was adjusted to payback more for certain quads. My guess is the overall payback is very close to regular 9/6 DDB. If I get some energy I will look into computing the payback. It's probably a couple of hours of work if I can steal another one of my old programs as a base.

For the games in casinos, is the expected return something that is published by the manufacturer to the casinos so they can set the pay tables at the desired amount or are those figured by 3rd parties and become common knowledge?

Yes, they document a few paytables but the casino can decide exactly what they want.

Found another difference between standard DDB and the QQ version. An ace is a more powerful card since you can draw to QQs as well as quad aces. Therefore, an ace is always better than JQ.

Your strategy works perfectly. Dealt 2-8s and a 6&2 and some other card. held the 2-8s, 6&2. got the 3rd 8 for a QQ

WM,I hope you LOCK this topic in.  Maybe we can go in and streamline it a bit for a single post that would be easier to glance at and grasp the strategy.Do you know how likely this game is to show up on the Casino Floor?  I presume it isn't already there.  I haven't seen it.As for the comparrison to the 9/6/4 DDB at 98.981%, I guess it isn't all that bad.  9/6/5 would be 100.386% if you could find it anywhere (and I can't recall ever seeing it).  What about the variance on QQDDB 9/6?

The variance must be extremely high. I've gotten tons of QQs and still lost my .... uh, shirt.

I hit the first two times I went for QQs in this manner. However, reality set in after a while.

The first I saw a machine was at G2E this week. Very slick glass.  Last I heard, it is a certainty that this one will be hitting the floors, but I don't have an estimated time frame or quantity.  I'm guessing it is very close to release. It is among my favorite new games so my hopes are high on this one getting some play.
