Thanks again Phil. This is the short version. Just back from an overnight at Mohegan. I only played two machines. The quarter All Star machine spin poker on a Bonus Deuces Wild game and one DDS machine also Bonus Deuces Wild. The quarter game was pretty hot all night. Somehow, I managed to get up about 700 on it. I took about a 3 hour rest, walk, coffee and etc., and back to the front. I decided to budget 200 of the 700 for Double Down Stud on regular Deuces Wild on quarters. The machine was pretty good hitting lots of small stuff and a couple of straight flushes. I was up about a hundred on this machine and decided to budget the original 200 and the 100 I was up and switch to dollar play on the same DDS machine. I decided if I hit something more than my money back in less than 5 hands apart, I would up my bets by one unit or one dollar every time the machine hit following that rule.
I was about to quit because my bets were getting awfully high as you can see, but I still had close to 100 left in the machine. Then out of nowhere after a couple of small hands, I was dealt the 3 deuces and caught the 4 one after doubling.
I got a check cut for that hit and decided to play a little longer, but not risk too much. The machine kept hitting small stuff which caused my bet to get way up to bet 18 and then WHAM.....I caught the Wild Royal. Another check, stopped by the bank immediately so as not to blow these jackpots and took a nice quiet ride home. Spent the rest of the day with dad and will be back with him for the night in a little while. Just a couple more of these and I will be even for 2014. 2015 and 2016 are already back to even. I'm not counting on it, but it would be nice to start with a completely clean casino loss free slate.

very rich bets and way out of my norm. Every so often though, you get a machine that hits way sooner than its normal frequency. That is what happened on this machine. The normal frequency for DDS Deuces is a hit of more than your money back every 5 hands or so. Bonus Deuces is even less frequent, though you will get quite a few pushes. In the case of these hits, the machine was hitting every 2,3,or 4 hands. That is how my bets got up so high. They were all small hits and I was actually losing a little every time I went up. Still I stayed within the posted budget and just got extremely lucky. Boy were the managment faces glum when I asked for checks. Of course they wanted me to pour it all back in. Been there, done that. They aren't going to get me that way again.

Edited to add...I meant to say the hits for quads pay less on DDS Bonus Deuces Wild. On most paytables, your quads pay less than regular deuces. Otherwise, the frequency of hits of more than your money back would be about the same.

olds, congrats, it could not happen to a nicer guy. you were certainly due.

do not want to butt in, but might be a good time to catch your breadth and consider how much of your previous years losses, you have already won back. are your bets getting higher than you are really comfortable with? you are not really playing with the casinos money, but money lost in years past. at $36 per spin, your good fortune could go south in a hurry. with all you have won recently, you average annual loss for he past 3 years, is likely pretty reasonable, for the amount you put thru the machines.

not trying to rain on your parade, just something to think about. good luck!

olds - congrats on the two nice hits. Keep the streak alive but don't chase it.

Phil you are mistaken about what you wrote in the last sentence of your most recent post here. Once it is won by a player, it is no longer: "the casino's money." It belongs to the player to do with what they want.
