Galey, the biggest enticing part you just need to know is that big payouts can happen sooner so that this game can have competitive scores in contests and more jackpots in real life casinos!

Do not be concerned about my efforts to figure out a strategy. I originally wanted to piece together a play strategy for the Super 6 Card Draw Poker, but I also saw this and grew interest as well.

I also said in the past that I was going to look into DDB Red and Black for Mr. Dawes, but I was not able to since I was very preoccupied earlier this year. This whole color thing brings an unique twist to video poker to look at.

I hope you will enjoy playing this new Color Match Royals poker again once you have an idea how to play!

I would rather play what I know. Too expensive and too complicated deviating from basic strategy. I would rather once again play stp or dtsp. I would bet more on those games for multipliers if given a chance, but not in ways I just don't get.

You are entirely right about it. It is expensive to have double your wager than a normal game to play for a bonus that may not be as volatile as STP or DSTP.

Also playing at a live casino setting without knowing the proper strategy holds will lead to mistakes that will become very expensive.

Double Double Bonus is unique to this game. There are actually two modes of 9/5 DDB. The plus mode of 9/5 DDB becomes 9/6 DDB when you bet maximum with Bonus feature enabled. The other one stays at 5 for 1 on a flush.

The payout of the PLUS edition is listed at 98.719% which is less than regular 9/6 DDB of 98.9808%

At least to me, if the 9/5 Jacks or Better of this game is available, and if the highest paying game is 9/6 DDB. I'll go for this game.

Tried with training mode and the tips, and this game is an abomination. Variance is way too low for me. It could be later I might wind up liking this game, but I highly doubt it. Wouldn't doubt a casino somewhere will have 20 of these because they're going to pull in more than their worst slots.

Yes the strategy is very different indeed.

Card 1: Queen Clubs
Card 2: Queen Spades
Card 3: Ten Diamonds
Card 4: Ten Spades
Card 5: Four Hearts

On normal DDB, a good amount of "recreational" players will hold just the high pair since they feel two pairs paying even money will hurt their chances at 3 of a Kind or Quads. The knowledgeable players will hold both pairs since the expected return is 0.24 coins greater to go for the full house.

But in THIS game, the proper hold is, Queen Clubs + Queen Spades + Ten Spades. Who would do that in any other video poker game? The strategy provided by this website does not make a strong emphasis on leaning towards the 3 colored cards more.

I am still working towards figuring it out, I've committed a good amount of hours so it will be a waste to give up now. If you and Galey can wait a little longer, this game might be more remarkable than it looks.

Edit: I meant to say remarkable for jackpot hand lovers, but not for pure max EV people.

It probably won't go over enough for 20 units anywhere. But I saw River City in St. Louis install 15 "powerhouse poker" games. I was dumbfounded. What a waste making that many machines. Half were empty on a Saturday night when most of the VP section was full.

I've never touched that Powerhouse Poker game before as it required GOLD to even try it. Pechanga put in 1 replacing Triple Wheel Poker.

I still have GOLD for a few more days but I learned of the payouts. I am sure most people were playing these pay schedules. Yes, I do not blame you for your reaction.

Double Double Bonus 9/5 (98.629%)
Double Double Bonus 8/5 (97.075%)
Double Double Bonus 7/5 (96.097%)

Triple Double Bonus 9/6 (98.751%)
Triple Double Bonus 9/5 (97.796%)
Triple Double Bonus 8/5 (96.404%)

Edited to add: I think with the newer machines, I think it is easier for them to switch out the game with just the software rather than the entire machine so its not a whole lot of risk for them to run various specialty games.

Very interesting game strategy-wise. I keep playing normal strategy on training mode and get a ton of yellow and red lights. XD It's all about holding 3-4 to a flush with this one.

People who play this game have to be aware of the paytable changes once you enable the game's bonus feature.

7/5 Bonus Poker will become 7/6 Bonus Poker

9/5 Jacks or Better will become 9/7 Jacks or Better

9/6/5 Double Bonus will become 9/7/5 Double Bonus

8/6 Bonus Deluxe will become 8/7 Bonus Deluxe, in addition this is the only game that will pay 750 credits for a natural straight flush while the others pay 1000.

As mentioned before, 9/5 DDB will become 9/6 DDB

As for Triple Double Bonus, it will remain 9/6 after the Bonus, but the Red/Black Straight Flush will pay 250 while the others pay 300

The strategy is already twisted, but seeing pay schedules I've never seen before just adds to that.
