Re: It's Vegas Baby!!
Let me remind everyone that this discussion started because someone made the personal decision to go against math based strategy in an attempt to see more natural and wild royal flushes. She used math to calculate the cost of this change and the effect. She paid the price and got what she wanted.  We never said that math didn't work. We never said everyone should make this change and we never said making this change would guarantee anyone a winner. She knows what she's doing and she plays the way she wants. End of story...
That's garbage. This started because you bragged that your wife played more accurately than anyone here and then said she doesn't always use proper strategy. I asked you how those two statements could possibly make sense?

[/quote]Bill, I am truly sorry you are so handicapped. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you had enough intelligence to understand basic math since you hold onto it so hard. I can see I was wrong and all you are attracted to is reading your own posts. I'm done wasting my time responding to your ridiculous rants. Enjoy talking to yourself. I'm sure you're used to it by now.

jeter, I am not qualified to give a math answer, but I am guessing this would come under the belief that all play is continuous. If I understand correctly, if one plays 5 million hands in one month and on the same machine, it is no different than if another player, takes 10 years, plays on hundreds of different machines and in multiple locations, presuming the paytables are the same. over a long enough sample size, the results should be the same. I think that is their belief.
this belief/theory/fact? along with the idea that every RNG is truly random, are my two most difficult things to accept.
I can accept the coin flipping exercise would not matter in either of two examples I listed, but, there are only two results available. that cannot be said about a VP machine, with a device that is supposed to pick random cards and just a split second difference in when the buttons are pressed, can affect the outcome.

No, that is not the belief. I think this is the root of why you're so confused about the math. The belief is that the results should be very similar, to within X units (whatever confidence interval 5 million hands gets you).
Like, if 2 people each flipped a coin 5 million times, no math person is saying each of them will have exactly 2.5 million heads and tails each. But they should be remarkably close to each other. One person getting, say, only 2 million heads would be extremely unlikely.
Hell, Try it yourself. Even after just 10,000 flips your ratio from heads/tails should be pretty damn close. Obviously the variance of VP is way higher than flipping a coin, but the principle is the same.

no, I am not so confused about the math. yes, I should have used the word 'similar', instead of the 'same'. I clearly stated I was not qualified to provide a math answer. see, I can admit to a mistake in wording, without using CAPITAL letters and having a hissy fit. hell, try it yourself.
the fact that you found no other part of my explanation to disagree with, I am presuming the 'jist' of my statement was acceptable. as no know responded to the poster's question, who fashions themselves a math expert, for hours, I simply attempted to give him an answer that is a close as possible to your beliefs.
they are not my beliefs.

The work of a true troll master.
Ask a question, get an answer.
Ask the exact same question again, get the exact same answer again.
Ask the exact same question again, get the exact same answer again, but in caps and rudely because the answerer is sick and tired of answering the same damn question, and then blame the answerer for having a hissy fit. And no, I didn't misword anything. You misinterpreted everything.
Anyway, well done. If you were as good at video poker as you are at being a troll, you'd give Dancer a run for his money.
Oh, and I know it must be difficult for you to formulate sentences and words on your own, but you can do it. You don't need to regurgitate everything I say, you know a couple of your own words too. I believe in you!

if I am the troll, why are you always the first to respond to my posts. check it out.
you may have some credentials in math, but as a debater, not so much. there is no better tactic, than to use your opponents words against them.
tell you what, you keep promising not to respond to my posts, why not honor that pledge. I have absolutely no interest in speaking with you.
knowing your past history, CAPITAL letters are likely included in your next post and your panties will be in a bunch. you can have the last word. not worth the effort.

I'm usually the first to respond to your posts because you are deliberately disseminating INCORRECT information. Video poker players like you might love to bask in the loving glow of ignorance, but believe it or not, there are some players who actually want to know what the numbers say before they decide on the best course of action. By giving them your incorrect information, you are denying them that opportunity.
And let us not forget how this started in the first place. I was having a thread discussion with FloridaPhil when you decided to come out of the woodwork like some raving lunatic. Don't put this on me. I did keep my word and stay out of conversing with you completely, but you butting into my conversation made that impossible.
My life would be incalculably improved by never having to respond to one of your inane posts again, but if you keep spouting off incorrect gibberish, someone will have to correct it. And if no one else does, I will.

This started with a simple question and ends in you hurling insults. Again. You can't even be honest within the same thread. Again.
Are you truly incapable of having a civil discussion without twisting the truth?
