Cashing out during a hot streak. What do you do?

I always take a check on hand pays. The one time I didn't was when a miracle royal bailed out my worst ever night. I took the cash, then before I knew it the handpay money was gone too. I have never been more ashamed of myself in a casino.

Now, if a bad session turns even slightly positive I usually leave, even if it is only $50 or $100 ahead. It sure feels better to walk out of the casino a winner.

If I am understanding the folks who have participated in this discussion.

It is shameful to win big early in the day but lose most if not all of those winnings near the end of the day?

It is a sense of relief that a player loses most of their bankroll and near the end if the day gets the big wins to put them slightly ahead?

End result is the same, but that is the psychological trap casinos have set for you guys.

I read the question differently than most...I thought he was asking, if the machine is hot and on a roll, do you cash out and start over or keep playing? If that is the case, I try not to cash out a hot machine until it shows signs of cooling off. And then I will cash out and try a bit more to be sure.

That's what I read too CBK and I said in those cases I ride her till she bucks me.

I play triple up ddb - when a machine is hot - I will cash out at $1000.00 - then feed another 100 bill - if that's gone - I move on (but not out- move to another machine).

If and only if a machine is hot, go aggressive. Max coin until that premium hand hits. In JOB's case, a quad. If you get back to your original bankroll, you've been frozen bythe cold cycle. Move!

Easy for me to answer, years ago I played very different than I do now. Video poker seems very different to me now, used to be I just played and the numbers/statistics seemed to just take of me, I never got excited or worried, the good and the bad seemed fairly balanced. Now days the machines are almost always fire or ice, very little in between. When I get lucky enough to find a window open I bust it out, it's tough around here anymore. To be honest there seems to a 30 minute window or so when the machines just dump dollars, the rest of the time it's nothing.
