Re: everywhere cant be as bad as mohegan sun
I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, however does the state of Connecticut ever conduct random checks on these casino's? I would think if they got enough complaints they would look in to this problem. I have played all over the U.S. and over the last 5 years I have done worse than ever! I for one am tired of never having a good trip, I always go to VPfree2.com and find the best pay tables. I play mainly 25 and 50 cent denoms and hit 2 royals in 5 years, I play DDB most of the time unless paytables are much better on something else. In my opinion something is different in the casino's, I wish someone from IGT or another company could explain this?
Funny you should ask that question. In this area there used to be a office which looks to be closed down, for years I never seen anyone but just this week I saw an official who was in a casino. I watched him closely as he went b y to see that every vp machine was closed or locked down, he went by and pushed on every machine to insure it was, made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

So I possibly picked the best time to head down (Mohegan in CT) and play video poker? I'm used to slotting at Mohegan Sun and after Zeus beat me up with the worst run of spins I ever had and the only friendly, reliable Garden of Amazon machine in Earth casino just didn't want to save me for the second time. But I got back a little when I sadly wandered into the Hall of Lost Tribes sat down at some random I believe Ultimate X machine 5c and ended up getting around $30 back to me with a nice single hand. I think that was a sign I should just turn to video poker. I probably plan on playing JoB but where does anyone think I have the best chance at getting something on a $100-120 limit playing at 25c denom? I'm always in the Earth casino area.

I play up at Mohegan at least 3 days a week and many times in the Hall of Lost Tribes or as I call it the Hall of Lost Dollars. I am in a cold cycle now, but if you don't mind not earning any Momentum Dollars which are very stingy anyway, look for the small signs on the machines white with black letters that say this machine does not pay Momentum dollars. These machines and there are many return over the long hall 98-99.5%. Most any with that sticker will have 9/6 job. There are many other games to choose from too, but with a small budget job would most likely keep you playing the longest due to its low variance. Bone up on the strategy though, as those mistakes in vp can be very expensive. My second choice for longevity of playing would be regular Deuces Wild with the sticker on it and a return table of 98.91% If you are playing less than 5 coins at a time though, your returns will be reduced by nearly 2 percent long term due the the Royal Flush short coin penalty. Good luck. I probably will see you up there.

The difference at the Tampa Hard Rock is nearly a full percent. The only problem is stomaching a short coin royal for $250 instead of $1,000. Most days you can get away with it, but sooner or later it will happen. If the game is negative, you may lose a little less long term as well.

I'll probably have a $150 budget if things go my way soon. I'll read up on playing correctly again, I feel like after a while this place actually made me less of a decent player because of no actual consequences for being lazy. I know my basics though and can do well, I just need to brush up a little beforehand. I don't mind not getting any momentum, after multiple trips I was only able to get a coffee mug and some other tiny things. Super stingy, I'm not sure how much you have to spend in play for each dollar but they need to rethink the awards system. I once got 15 dollars in free slot play with a discount meal at the buffet and that was as good as my rewards ever got. At least that day I was actually ahead though a nice amount. I definitely won't be playing enough with it too get much anymore.

It'll be like he's still playing the slots!

DW may have the best chance of "getting something" due to the two big hands. JOB Outcome: 55% of hands are losers. 21% are single-credit "winners" returning only the original bet, a push (tie). 13% win exactly two credits per unit wagered. 11% return more than two credits. Less than 3% of hands return six credits or more.

From my experience you need a 1,000 coin daily bankroll if you want to play 5 coin max coins. That's $250 for quarters. If you play a low variance game like Jacks, Bonus or DW accurately, you should be able to play for a considerable length of time. If you use a low cash out level and have enough discipline to stick with it, you'll rarely go home totally busted. Good odds let you play longer with the same money, they don't guarantee you will come out a winner on any given day.

just to put things in perspective....you have to cycle through nearly 500 bucks at Mohegan on the vp machines that do pay points to earn just 1 momentum dollar. An average player to attain Ascend level can expect to lose about 50k a year or more and Soar level 100k a year or more. Soar level requires 4000 status points every 6 months. They accumulate at roughly the same rate as momentum dollars. Using round numbers....4000x500=2,000,000 cycled through the machines every 6 months to maintain Soar status. Probably the best one could to achieve long term factoring in mistakes, not quite perfect strategy, and not always playing 99.5% games would be about a 98% return. That translates into an annual loss of nearly 80k. In a cold cycle that could easily last a year or more, you are talking an annual loss of between 100k and 200k.
To maintain Ascend status, you would need 1400 points every 6 months which would translate....with a 98% return to an annual loss of 56k and in a long cold cycle easily pass 100k in any given year.
Believe it or not there are well over 1000 Soar level players at Mohegan Sun according to an employee I recently spoke to and many times that in Ascend level players. Combine that with the many many slot players and that is how casinos build their massive enterprises with absolutely huge overhead. Beyond belief actually how high their overhead is and so much money wasted on changing decor, stupid programs that don't work and on and on.
