An old friend had my back...

Did you hit any jackpots? Did you get a great comp? We all want to know!

Snow should hardly be a concern. It's all sunshine and lollipops with VP play. I turned my $10 Harrah's FP into -$11 today.

Well FAA the VP Gods will shine their glory unto you at some point, keep your chin up and watch out for the low blows.

Dear Diary;

What I did today:

I worked a very long, occasional Saturday. Afterward I stopped at Hollywood in Joliet, IL to play $125.00 in freeplay and I added $125.00 in comp dollars to it. I sat down a a machine next to the one I won on yesterday and over the course of an hour I earned 1,050 points and walked out with exactly $500.00. Not bad for an hour's work considering I didn't invest a single dollar of my own money into the machine.

Thanks Kid. So this weekend I was able to get back $780.00 ($700.00 cash + $80.00 Shell gas cards) from Hollywood Joliet the $800.00 I lost there last weekend.

When I played there Saturday when I won the $500.00 L was tempted to play it down to 2 or 3 hundred and see what happened because I did hit several 4oaks (including aces without a kicker and quad 4's twice without a kicker) but I decided to take the entire $500.00 and leave.

Congratulations Ted, loved the story and great hits. When you're on the streak ride it while you can. Between you and our daughter who continues on a great run we are jealous. Hopefully, at the end of the semester Sweet C and I can have some time to make a trip or two.   Have a great Thanksgiving.

Congrats on winning anything at Hollywood. Can't win a damn thing there and hardly see anyone getting a hand pay. See the hand pays and get them myself at Harrah's. It's been like that for years.

I know the progressive dollar at Hollywood will get to $5000 a lot. Hardly ever at Harrah's. usually around $4400 at Harrahs and someone will hit it.
No idea when it gets hit at Hollywood as I never hit it and never seen it get hit.

Just for reference I hit it 5 times at Harrahs in August and September highly unusual but it happens there.

Harrah's Joliet VP is somewhat of an anomaly. It's pretty busy for the Midwest. Probably the busiest VP area of all of Chicagoland. More play generally means more hand pays. The few times I went to Hollywood Joliet, the VP section was pretty dead. And you hit 5 single line royals in August and September? I assume that was way above expectation, unless you play like 6 hours a day...

Yes it was way, way above expectation. I play about 6 hours total on the weekends only. Sometimes I don't last that long. 4 were on single line $1 progressive and 1 was on $1 triple play. Been pretty quiet for me since then.

Harrah's has more dollar and up players from what I can tell. Hollywood always looks like the quarter machines are busy. It's just that I never had a hand pay on Hollywood's single line games. Too many to count from Harrah's. Maybe it's just me.
