Mr. Sea Lion Racks Up A Couple Of Nice Ones Too!

Last Sunday at Sams Town, I played for a few hours in the afternoon, then went home to get my wife and drove back to Sams Town to have dinner at the Big Mess BBQ that recently opened there. Wife asks if I'm going to play after dinner and I said yeah for a bit. Well, about an hour after dinner, she is done playing her bit for the night on the All Star machines where she seems to do quite well, so she comes over to me where I was playing, on the 9/6 TDB QQ machines by the donut shop. I'm not one to bet anything extra on any machine as for the most part it is not worth it, so I stick with the 50 coins instead of the 60 coins. I just wanted to play a little TDB and the QQ machines are the only ones there that offer 9/6 nickels - the other All Star Machines there offer 7/5 DDB or 8/5 TDB, which is not playable as far as I'm concerned. Not here in Vegas anyway. Well lo and behold, I get dealt A-A-A-4-A. I only see the 4 aces and I'm like alright, 4 aces!! Maybe I'll catch a few with the kicker, but then I see that 4 there and the machine automatically holding all 5 cards then locking up and going into it's thing when a jackpot is hit. That's when I realized I was dealt 4AWK on 10-play nickels for $2000. Merry Christmas from Mr. Boyd! Today I called in sick as my head was literally spinning as I was about to get up for work and decided to go with my gut feeling not to push it this morning, so I slept in to about 10:30 AM. I managed to get up and just kick back for a few hours before deciding to run down to Main Street for the free play drawings this afternoon/ evening. Well, after about 20 minutes of playing, I was dealt a royal on single play 9/6 DDB nickels for $200, + the scratcher for that extra buck. My first dealt royal ever! About 30 minutes before the last drawing, I managed to hit a 4AWK on double double bonus w/ scratcher and nabbed 4 free tickets to the Cinch Boyd Chute Out Rodeo next weekend before calling it good and going home before I put it all back in the machines. I do have some photos from my cell phone that I finally managed to upload to my computer, but not sure how to upload them here.

Congrats Sea Lion! I have yet to get a dealt royal myself, but I have been dealt 4 aces (with and without kickers) a few times now.

Between my wife and I, we've managed 6 more royals and several 4AWK's over the last month at Main Street, and therefore, our comps have taken a big hit - I was getting 4 anytime buffets per month + $30 in freeplay. That has dwindled down to 1 buffet good Sun - Thurs. and zero freeplay for January. No complaints though, because when all is said and done, I'd rather be rewarded with the premium VP hits.  Happy new Years!!!
