High roller was solo today, but I still was uncomfortable playing the adjacent $5 machine. I walked behind him out of curiosity. He plays single coin JOB. Apparently he’s grinding away at their 9/6 denomination.
"High roller " and "single coin" don't really go together, even if at 800-1. But then again, a lot of people with large bankrolls behave in eccentric ways. For sure high roller and grinding away don't mix. I suspect he was in capital preservation mode or playing scared. Are you sure he wasn't employing some type of graduating bet system?

Yeah, he's all one coin all the time. Him and his dopey sidekick. Those clowns are having a high old time yukking it up. They weren't around the last two trips, which have been a nice respite. And yes, high roller is a generous label. I only say that because he's in the HL room. I tried to ascertain their motivation. If they come down and play the dollar machines with the rest of us, the JOB will only be 8/5. The point accrual is so slow for VP that it's almost pointless. So they do benefit, unless they happen to hit RF and have years of player's remorse.
