Just Don't Lose, Baby. Minimize coin in and losses. Have fun day out anyway. Not a bad plan. WTH.

Hmm … this quote is contained in this very thread! Truly, these are words that I never thought I would see from this author. What are the odds on future posts backing up these words? Anyone? What's that you say? No bookmakers will touch that prop bet?FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:30 pmThere is nothing left to say on this subject that hasn't already been said.

The Groundhog Day aspect of just this quote is that he's also said this repeatedly in about 5 other forum threads.New2vp wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 11:25 pmHmm … this quote is contained in this very thread! Looking forward to shoveling today, just hope I don't have to do it again tomorrow. The only difference being what I shovel is white and fluffy.

Playing single coin VP is not about beating the casinos. Since that's all this forum is about, I can see how my detractors would think it's worthless information. Believe it or not, most video poker players would do better financially if they played single coin quarters. Of course, they would have to accept the fact that most VP games are long term losers. The only players on this forum who admit to losing seems to be me and Olds442jetaway. I find this strange. It shouldn't be. Given the fact that gamblers never talk about their loses, it's understandable.
So why do I post this information? Many of my friends are retirees. There are many people who visit this forum who don't have money to throw away in a casino. They have to be choosy about their entertainment. They like going to the casino but don't like paying through the nose for the privilege. Some of my friends play single coin quarter VP. They are accurate and knowledgeable. They are beating the casino. How is this even possible?
They go to a casino just as nice as you do. They drink free drinks. They listen to the same music. They are waited on by the same pretty girls. They play the same games a whole lot cheaper than you can imagine. They are taking up a seat and playing the same game someone else might play at max coin dollars. The casino doesn't like this. They need big betters not cheap ones.
What you are doing when you play video poker is paying for an experience. If the experience of hitting a jackpot is worth the cost, you got your money's worth. If not, the casino beat you. Look around, do you think the casino was built by single coin quarter losers? The casino is not going to beat a person playing single coin quarter VP. It costs more to turn the machine on than they pay to play. These players are the truly "beating the casino".
I'm not on this forum to tell you how to beat the casino or live a nice lifestyle from professional gambling. There are others who can do that. I'm here to talk about the VP I see and it's nothing like they are describing.

This is an outright lie.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 4:56 amBelieve it or not, most video poker players would do better financially if they played single coin quarters.
They would do financially better if:
A) They never play at all.
B) Only play when they have the advantage on the game.

Agreed. Do you believe either A or B deters anyone from playing VP? What if you walked around the casino and told everyone who is playing a negative game or doesn't have an advantage to go home? Would the casino empty out?Jstark wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 6:05 amThis is an outright lie.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 4:56 amBelieve it or not, most video poker players would do better financially if they played single coin quarters.

The players I am talking to want to play and the only games they have to play are negative. What does your math have to say about that? Mine tells me the more money you run through the machines the more it costs you.
Another problem with VP is you get caught up in the game. You put money in the machine and the game pays you from time to time. You don't realize it's "real money" until you get home and find you lost $300 or more. At the end of the year you are down thousands of dollars and are left wondering what happened.
If you are only going to the casino once in a great while, by all means play max coins at whatever denomination you are comfortable with. If you are going to play negative VP a full day each week or more, you should be aware of the cost before you pay it.
For all but a tiny group of people, playing video poker is a loser. The odds you will be a winner are so small, they are not worth discussing. This forum should offer helpful information to the majority of players, not just the ones who already know what to do. If you can play VP with an advantage, can play perfect and have an adequate bankroll, do so. You don't need to drag the rest of us into paying your bills any more than we have to.

I think I've asked this before, but I'll ask again: If you're playing multiline, why does it matter where the royal is? And, have your incredible non royal streaks of several hundred thousand hands disregarded some royals because they were on the "wrong" hand?olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 8:51 pmI have gone about a hundred thousand hands now without hitting a Royal on the deal line of a single line or the bottom line of a Triple play machine, or the center line which I also call the deal line on Triple play spin poker.

I remember and i think i answered it too. No they arent disregarded. Actually it just reset due to the short coin royal the other day. I just find it incredible that i almost never hit rouals unless i play multi line games. So as of this moment, i have gone about another 11000 hands without a royal. Guess will see what happens this cycle. So weird cause on the other hand i continue to hit quad deuces every 4000 hands or so way more than average. All played lines are always considered

I really don't know where to begin when commenting on this post. Phil; casinos were built on losers, both big and small, period. You say that people who play single coin are truly "beating the casino" and I say its the opposite. And for those players who don't have money to throw away in a casino? Well, they are subject to the pitfalls of gambling with money that they cannot afford to even be gambling with and you, by way of telling these same people to go to a casino and "just bet small", are not helping these same people at all. If they don't have the money they shouldn't be in a casino, period. Do you tell cigarette smokers not to worry and all will be well as long as they only smoke 5 cigarettes a day and not the entire pack?FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 4:56 amPlaying single coin VP is not about beating the casinos. You keep sidestepping the fact that you are repeating the same information over and over and over and over again, this was most recently confirmed by webman here in these very forums.
Those who you are now referring to as your "detractors" (and for all I know, you may be including me in this mix now but I really don't care) have only become your "detractors" because of what I wrote in the sentence above: stop repeating the same tired information that you have clogged these forums with over the past few months and you'll find that people may very well regain some respect for you.
