And what I wrote is strictly my own analysis of TedLark's play and results. I can't get inside his head. But I know how VP players are. It is only human nature to brag about your big jackpots or the big bass or your son's A grade in algebra. No one comes onto this board to brag about their losing sessions or about how their son failed English six years in a row. TedLark is human and so it is only to be expected that he wants to project success. Why is that a crime? This is an informal posting board, really, a coffee klatch. We're not taking depositions here for a Supreme Court hearing, ya know...… I know the reality of math, you know it, and TedLark knows it. Lighten up, my friend.
lighten up? what the heck is your problem? i never said he bragged. i never said he lied. i do not care if ted, you or anyone else wins.

you say you know how the math works, terrific, you probably know it better than me. BUT, when someone declares they are beating the casino after at least the last 7 consecutive years of playing negative machines, it goes against the math. there are numerous posters who have made posts suggesting something is askew.

What is askew? Did you sign a blood oath when you joined this forum to always tell the exact truth, never stretch it even slightly? Sure, I knew TedLark was probably telling the story of the big one that got away. Did it bother me? No, not at all. What possible difference does it make on an anonymous posting board if someone doesn't want to admit their bad news? By the very fact that you are prosecuting him for a good-natured stretching of the truth, I have to almost wonder if you are compensating for some VP failures of your own. If I tell you I ran a mile in 33 seconds and you turn it into a federal case, I would then worry more about you than me.

vp failures of my own....i have lost money every year for at least the last 7 years. it is not a failure, it is my reality. have not posted about my results for years, but when i did, i gave the good, the bad and the ugly.

just so i am clear, according to you, lying is acceptable and something we should expect. and, again, according to you, his reported results are akin to 'the big one that got away' and 'stretching the truth'.

why would anyone and i guess that includes you, need to lie on an anonymous site?

I don't know what his motivations are, notes1, but my point is: who cares? What possible difference does it make at the end of the day if someone you and I don't even personally know comes into cyberspace and writes something that might not be 100% true? Maybe Webman needs to starts yet another posting category, this one titled: "Fictional Results" or maybe more tactfully "Unverified Results". I'm ending my role in the conversation now, notes1, but with all due respect to you. It has been an interesting discussion and I wish you, TedLark, and everyone else a very good day!

Attention is one reason.

There is a couple on another one of my forums that go to Vegas frequently (~6 times a year) and write up nice, detailed trip reports. They play slots 99% of the time. Well in their trips, they write up daily results. And 80% of the days, they claim they are ahead for the day. One time, about a year ago, because I was curious I decide look at their daily results for the last 37 days. They had won 30! Now if we generously assume a slot player only won 1 of every 3 days on average, do you have any idea what the odds of winning 30 or more days out of 37 are???
.
1 in 303,941,547

So instead of having this "slot luck", I'd personally prefer to use it on winning Powerball on one ticket. It would be easier to pull off!

Yes in theory, a streak like theirs is possible. But they have also been winning at a similar rate since. Probably another 25 days in Vegas or so with roughly another 20 winning days. So, only one real logical explanation left. They are making up numbers. I think half of the forum thinks they do too by now.

And if you have read my last two Vegas trip reports, I've also done a day by day breakdown and a casino by casino breakdown of my wins and losses. Partly I did it out of curiosity, and partly I did it to poke a bit of fun at them.

Fortunately, ever since I decided to do this, I won on both of my trips thanks some very lucky hits. So like them, I came home a winner. But my daily breakdown while in Vegas was definitely different than theirs.

Sept. 2018: Lost 6 of 7 days
April 2019: Lost 2 of 5 days (that was pretty lucky)
Total: Lost 8 of 12 days.

I don't fully call them on their records though because they are nice people (I've actually met them). They also write entertaining trip reports. But personally, I'd still find them entertaining even if they claimed they lost more than half the days. Or claimed no results at all.

But I would bet if they claimed more pedestrian results, fewer people would read the report. Personally I think that's a bit sad as results shouldn't matter much if the content is entertaining. But I'm pretty sure more people would rather read winning trips than losing ones.

I have never lied here about the results I've had playing video poker. As I have stated before: why would I lie? I have no ego to stoke, stroke, massage, nurture, grow, or enlarge.

I really don't care if anyone here believes me, doesn't believe me, doesn't care, cares very little, is envious of: my results playing video poker. I have posted stories here for many years and if my stories didn't include: reports on machine payback percentages; descriptions of the casino carpeting; pictures of my breakfast; pictures of adult beverages; pictures of signs in casinos; stories of encounters with drunken people on Las Vegas Blvd, the Atlantic City Boardwalk, wherever; pictures of cars I passed while driving to a casino; reports on histoplasmosis studies done on standing water in Atlantic City; well, I apologize for that. But investigating and posting on such things just isn't my bag. I doubt a picture I take of my Sunday ritual Las Vegas Jack-in-the-Box lunch would garner much attention here. But for those who do post such information, I say great for them.

Vman recently said something along the lines of: " I saw Ted dropping hundreds of dollars while playing." I also reported once about having met billyjoe at Harrah's Joliet. In that report I mentioned that I had lost almost all of my gambling stake while I was with him and he had then gone to bed. About 10 minutes after he left I texted him a picture of me being dealt quad 4"s on .25 ten play. About 20 minutes after I got paid off I was sending him another text with a picture of a royal I had just hit. The moral here is something we all know: fortunes in video poker can change just that fast.

I have always tried to make my reports entertaining and interesting. All this crap now with people just basically calling me a liar (which I take MUCH personal offense to) just tells me that maybe I too; should join the ever growing list of people who don't post here anymore.
