Woo hoo! Market recouped a third of yesterday's loss. Just like my casino visits.

It's official. All Nevada casinos close at midnight tonight. That includes Las Vegas, Reno-Tahoe, Laughlin, and other casinos throughout Nevada. And the nightmare continues.

Don’t look at the market today. When the government like today states that the unemployment rate could hit 20 percent and of course it easily could, I am holding off on any new investments. Thats just me. But what do I know! I will tell you this. I was so fortunate to have a great grandfather that I was close to and he lived until just shy of his 98th birthday. He was a brilliant man with many life experiences. He was in his teens during the depression of 1893-1897 and around 50 during the great depression in the 1930s. I learned so much about life and finances from him. It is hard to believe, but one of his best friends was a former slave on a plantation in Virginia. When my mom was born, the midwife handed my mom to this former slave and family friend to hold and keep warm while they took care of things. That doesn’t make me an expert in anything but it does give me insight. I doubt the schools teach much of any of the above to students anymore. But guess what. Both of my grandmothers knew how to make potato peeling soup. That was a common dish during the depression

Forgot to add.... My dad wore a paper suit when he made his first communion at the height of the great depression. There were expert tailors who made them at that time. I think you could even mail order one. Maybe from Sears. I will have to look that one up.

As of 4:00 am this morning, the last casino in metro Phoenix closed. Most are planning to reopen in April. Who can predict if they will do so.OTABILL wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 10:49 amWell if you are desperate to go to a casino (I am not!), Arizona casinos remain open as of this moment.[urlhttps://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/ariz ... 064903002/][/url]
