485035, so typical of todays progressive. name calling with no facts. fortunately, this website hasn't fallen for the left's call for abolishing free speech.

remember, that silent majority that elected trump the first time is still here. may not like some of what he says, but we have seen what your side is offering, and that is not what they want.

it was only a couple of months ago that the USA was doing pretty good. record low unemployment, faster wage growth for the lowest earners, decent economic growth, record high stock market, etc.

no one and i mean no one, thinks biden can formulate a full sentence. restart an economy, forget it.

you think MY crowd is 'out of touch'. well, let's ask those suburban mom's, those retired folks, those who own a business and the rest of the hard working folks who actually pay the taxes in this country, if they like what they see on TV. do they like what YOUR crowd is offering; looting, burning, tearing down statues, taking over parts of cities, mob rule, defund the police, no borders, free stuff for anyone who can get into the country, voting for criminals, green new deal, free healthcare/housing/college for everyone, the list is endless.

americans still want law and order. they want the police, they just want a police force that treats everyone the same, fairly and without abuse. americans want equality for everyone, regardless of color, religion or wealth. no exceptions, including for the political class. they don't want terrorism.

Since your posting of deliberately misleading info comparing the state of Florida to NYC (pointless comparison yet exemplifies why so called conservatives have no clue), Florida and Texas and Arizona have been slammed. This virus which you and those like you insist on politicizing, is now out of control expressly because we have a Republican president pretending to lead when all he is doing is everything he shouldn't .... Donald trump and his Republican enablers have caused the USA to be the most pitiful example of this pandemic. And as of today, the only positive thing is he has damaged himself beyond repair in terms of reelection.

My original criticism of you was not that you should or shouldn't express your opinion, it was the manner and tone you insist on doing so....you're a master of conflating and confusing whatever issue is being discussed. Follow you're own advice you once posted here many months ago when you chastised another loudmouth like yourself when you said politics and criticism shou!d be generally avoided unless you are going to also offer something positive as a solution.

It is not a "Chinese virus", seriously....stop quoting the moron. Just stop...

Very insightful post. Possibly the best post I have seen on here in a while.

Notes, with all do respect, I could never live in Florida with the humidity, etc. To each his own but the desert southwest is for me. Maybe because I'm not a beach person.
i specifically mentioned that no place was perfect, there were pro and cons to any location. most folks i talk to who live on the east coast, prefer to stay on east coast. and, with all DUE respect, it is not like the desert does not offers it's own perils and challenges to live there.
But it is a dry heat..... except when it's 112 outside and that monsoon moisture comes rolling in. :o
True. However years ago I went to Vegas on a business trip in August. It was 108. Had a little free time and drove to Valley of Fire State Park and walked around to see the petroglyphs. When I got back to Northern Virginia and got off the plane, it was 90 with 90 percent humidity. Felt a lot worse then when I was trekking through the desert. BTW, it was 112 yesterday and was still able to take my daily walk at night (bottle of water of course) without swimming in sweat.
I used to avoid Vegas in the summer, but in 2009 I went with a school teacher friend who couldn't get away in the winter. Did a lot of siteseeing and hit The Valley of Fire at noon on a hot August day.
Three days later, I was in NY where it as 90 with high humidity. Thats when I first realized I could deal with the Vegas summers.
Bisbee is cooler was it is a mile high, and except for monsoon season the humidity is okay.

We have hiked to mouses tank at Valley of the Fire in late July before. Even though we started early, never again. I think it was like 120 degrees by the time we got back to the car.

This is getting ridiculous. I understand the argument against giving a disease a geographical name. However, why suddenly is naming a disease from its geographical place of origin political? Calling this the Chinese Virus simply refers to from where it came. Diseases traditionally have been so labeled and given human nature; I am sure the practice will continue at least for some time. We have had the Asian Flu, Spanish Flu, Hong Kong Flu, West Nile virus, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lyme disease, St Louis Encephalitis, Rift Valley Fever, German Measles, etc. You want to criticize or support Trump, go for it. But this is really getting into the weeds.

All my previous visits were in the winter where the rocks are cool to the touch, so when I went in August, I jumped on the first rocks we came to. Never again.

I am glad to see I am not the only one who sees it this way. And, I would add that renaming the virus for political purposes is also ridiculous.

Trump made it political by repeatedly saying things like " China sent the Flu".
I wouldn't really care except idiots are taking it out on people who look Chinese. My niece, who is adopted has been verbally abused several times and before the lockdown, her boss moved her from being the hostess to working in the kitchen because several people complained about a Chinese person handing them a menu. As any reader of this forum knows, there are a lot of irrational people who look for any excuse to spew their hatred. We don't need our President egging them on.
A large percentage of them think the virus was handmade and that China sent thousands of infected people here on purpose. When you point out that most of the first wave infections came from people coming from Europe they look at you like you are nuts.
I'm sure notes will read this and say I'm supporting China.
Words have consequences. People like notes and tech would never talk like that to a democrat in a social setting or a bar. It's easy to hurl insults and accusations from behind ones desk. There is no reason for a President to egg them on.

Watch the Axios interview at the three minute mark to see why people object to "China virus"
