I personally, would also choose the multi-line option. When comparing the two above options, what also needs to be weighed is in option 1, what the winnings would be if it were a dud hand. The player did not connect on the royal, nor, connect on any of the 3 or 4 face cards making up the 4 to the royal. In option 2, you have 10 chances of making something back.dinghy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 27, 2025 7:51 amTo simplify the analysis, suppose you're dealt 4 to a royal. Which opportunity would you prefer?
(1) [single line, $1 denom] one chance at $4000, or
(2) [multi line, 10c denom], ten chances at $400
I think most players would choose option 1 because they're trying to hit jackpots. I would choose option 2 every day, and twice on Monday.
As for availability in Nevada, it is hard to find good multi. Sometimes I have to accept single, but I'm not happy about it.
Reason for playing multi-draw games?

I'd play multi line if I want to bet bigger but with less volatility. For example I prefer $25 bets playing 10 play .50 denomination instead of single line $5 denomination.

Still intrigued by multi-line.
Picked up a comment, with no explanation, on WOO that concurred on the EV and said that multi has less variance.
Not sure why that is. Since I confuse easily can anyone help me out here.

It's all about something called Variance.
If both single line and multiline games offer the same promotion/ratings etc, for the same bet, multi-line games have much lower variance, which means you can coin-in a lot with the same bankroll on multi-line games.
For example, with a $2,000 bankroll, you might get about 2 hours of play on $1 10‑play Jacks or Better, versus only around 10 minutes on $10 single‑line.
Multi-play games are ideal for promotions because their lower variance lets you maximize coin-in - and therefore earn more points, comps, and slot dollars - within the promotion window.

I understand variance and don't know the variance of multi-line at the pay tables available to me. FP JOB is around 19 I believe.
But at what point the worse pay-tables for multi more than off-set the variance advantage is still not clear to me.
If someone finds 9/6 JOB on multi I fully understand the deal.
Where I live that option does not exist.
