I play at Treasure Island Casino in Red Wing MN and never win.  I get a Royal Scalping almost every time.  Go to Vegas!

The compact signed between the state of MN and the Indian tribes set the maximum payout for VP at 98%. Yeah, the state set up requirements to screw it's own residents and make more money for the Indians!

That said, it turns out there is one game that slipped under the radar and does payback ~100%. It's called One-eyed Jacks (OEJs) or at TI it's called Two Jacks Wild. It's also found more abundently at the Grand Casinos.

The game has a high volatility (like DDB).

I haven't been to Turtle Lake in around 3 years. They used to have $ 9/6 JOB. Do they still have this game? What do you play there?

Wisconsin does not have the same 98% restriction as MN (the limit is 100%) but since the Turtle is mainly in competition with MN casinos they don't have the pressure to put in good games.

My spouse and I go to Harrah's Rincon alot. Win most of the time playing video poker. Have won alot of money there and at Valley view. Also Rincon has no smoking area.  Machines are tight on holidays and special occasions. Stay Away!

Yes, Been to all of them. Favorite is Harrahs Rincon. Play $1 video poker. Usually do pretty good.  Everything comped.  You're comps are good wherever there's a Harrah's or whatever casino they own. Get all kinds of offers from them.  We are diamond status and they treat us GREAT.

Congratulations. However, the number of RFs you hit does not really provide anyone else with good information about the casino. What machines do you play and are there good pay tables?

What exactly is comped? How much play did it take? What machines did you play on?

No one wins "most of the time" playing VP. The session win rate is well known for most games. For low variance games like JOB the win rate is around 25% but the loss amounts are low. For high variance games like DDB you can expect win rates around 40-45% but the losses will be greater.

Finally, VP machines are not "tight" or "loose". They have pay tables which determine the payback over time. Some of these paytables are poor which would correspond to being "tight". However, if the pay tables don't change then the return is no different on "holidays and special occasions". This is another gambling myth.

I like Mohegan Sun Casino in Ct. They do have a couple of non smoking areas with good VP pay tables and some real good promotions going on now. Most restaurants and entertainment areas have finally gone smoke free. Unfortunately, you still have to walk through the wall of smoke to get anywhere. I have been on their case for years  trying to get them to improve their non smoking facilities and have noticed quite a few changes for the better this past year. As to the VP itself, they currently have some quarter Bonus Poker games with the 99% plus return and most of the dollar machines at the bars are 9/6 machines. Of course mixed in are the lower return machines, but they are easy enough to spot. They also have a very good casino host system and are generous for the regular player in giving out event tickets. Last time I checked, the points earned was in the range of 1 point for $160- or so in play on quarter VP, but I believe they credit you at a higher rate on the dollar machines. On the down side, they have removed most of the double down stud machines. Granted, the return on those is only in the 97% range, but if you are lucky you can catch a hot machine and play many more hands per hour than Jacks or better.
