I meant nothing by my post just relaying information. Not every one of my post's are  a shot at webman. I am on quite a short leash here, pardon the pun. I also understand why Ted.

Seen one of the best hands ever at the Michigan 4-Winds casino last week. A player was on a nickel machine playing Double Super Times. He was playing 3 hands at 7 credits per hand, He  was dealt a Royal Flush and the multipler came out with a 10 times bonus. He held the five cards and hit the deal button and the multipler came out again at another 10 times.  20 TIMES 3 ROYALS FOR 240000 NICKELS. ($12,000) hE WAS IN SHOCK.....WHAT A DEAL

Wow. As others have mentioned, if you have the Double Super Times Pay bet active, get a dealt royal AND were chosen to receive ANY deal multiplier (1 in 15 chance for multiplier). The dealt royal will automatically receive a deal and draw multiplier of 10X each for 20X. The dealt royal chance is 1 in 649,740, so both necessary events will roughly occur every 1 in 9.74 million rounds.

Now until the other day, I thought they randomly added this rule for kicks. But then I thought to myself, many state laws force you to state "jackpot" (i.e. biggest payoff) odds on the machine glass if they are less likely to hit than 1 in 50 million. But the odds of hitting the 20X multiplier alone is 1 in 562,500. So considering the dealt/drawn Royal odds of ~1 in 40,000, this would lead the chances to get the 20X Royal without the rule change to be ~ 1 in 22.5 billion! Now doing the math, I feel stupid for not taking a pic of the 20X multiplier when it actually happened to me at Margaritaville in Vegas (I bricked the hand though :().

This is the highest multiplier win I have had (1 in 70k for 18X multiplier). Hoping for the dealt royal with a multiplier one day though. :)

Hi Vman, I don't post much anymore, but can tell from your posts that
you are mathematically inclined.
I sent you a private message asking this a week or so ago, but being new, you might not be aware of how to view those.  (Click on the white envelope on a red background in the upper right hand corner, just to the left of the Facebook icon.  I'm guessing that there should be a red circle with a number in it on your envelope.)

Below you quoted odds of 1 in 562,500 to get
20x and 1 in 70,000 to get 18x. Using the first figure, I can deduce
that the odds of a single 10x multiplier (let's say on the deal) are
exactly 2/100 x 1/15, so that 2% of all multipliers are 10x. Then using
your other number (70,000, which I'm guessing may be an estimate), I
can see that perhaps 8% of all multipliers are 8x.

I have seen and verified the regular STP multiplier distribution as
17%/2x, 33%/3x, 16%/4x, 24%/5x, 6%/8x and 4%/10x. I note that if I just
switch the 8x and 10x to the numbers from your odds (8% and 2%), I get
an average multiplier of 4.01 as advertised on the DSTP game.

Are you certain of your numbers or have you just estimated them from
experience? If you are certain, have I correctly stated them? Are the other numbers for 2x, 3x, 4x, and 5x the same as in the regular STP game?  Just wondering, how do you know that your numbers are correct?

Thanks in advance. Though you haven't posted here long, I generally look forward to reading what you have written.

Yes, I did notice that, but it tells me I need to be a Gold member to read them. And this site doesn't have enough traffic for me to justify becoming one.

Anyway, as far as the Double Super Times Pay multipliers goes, the video poker analyzer at the Wizard of Odds can calculate the return for Double Super Times Pay, so from that you can glean out the multiplier probabilities. I am assuming they got the info from IGT or did the test themselves. I doubt they would publish it unless it was right. I also post on the Wizard of Vegas forum as "tringlomane", but video poker discussion is somewhat limited.

The probability of hitting a multiplier on the deal in Double STP is as follows:

2X - 17/1500
3X - 33/1500
4X - 16/1500
5X - 24/1500
8X - 8/1500
10X - 2/1500

Average Multiplier Value: 4.01

The multiplier chances are the same for the draw.

Thanks, I visit the WoO site from time to time, but didn't see the DSTP option on the analyzer application.  Lately I've been concerned with Java's security problems.  Rather than trying to understand it, I just disabled it.I suppose I could reload it, but haven't investigated the safe way to do so.And I suppose I should have known that pm-ing was strictly a Gold Member option. Thanks a lot for the response.
