Our favorite casino is The Orleans.  The video poker is always good to us.  We play DDB, DB, and TDB single line.  This past visit was very good to us like always, with us hitting lots of 4oaks, 4 As with the kicker and a dealt Royal.   We are looking forward to our next visit in January!

My parents used to live in Vegas and my mom was a gambler. Its ALWAYS better to play VP off the strip and we would ALWAYS play late at night! I miss those days! Love ya mom!

Hi folks!   I've Been busy as of late, as well as laid up with kidney stone(s), but I still read and keep up with the fresh posts that still manage to be submitted by the various "active" members of the forum......and I like this particular thread, even though this same exact specific question has been asked and discussed several times in the recent past. I agree with the previous poster who implied that the "best" video poker in Vegas is to be found  OFF strip>>>>>>   That has always been my opinion and experience, with the downtown, Fremont Street, casinos along with several other off-strip properties always giving better results than the big, huge "MEGA RESORTS" on the strip (like Bellagio, Paris, Mandalay, Venetian, et al!!!!)    Once you familiarize yourself with the area around the Fremont street experience and visit every casino in the entire Downtown neighborhood, and then mentally (and empirically) compare it with what is available on the strip, the difference immediately reveals itself......It starts (usually) with noticeably BETTER paytables combined with various comp/point systems that are far more generous than anything the big Strip flagships can offer (unless, of course, you happen to be a VERY high roller.)   When I visit Vegas, within the first few hours after arrival, you will always find me playing at such places as Four Queenzzz, da "D" (formerly Fitzgeralds), "Bunions Horseshooo", The Las Vegas Club and the Plaza (historically, THE single most photographed and media exposed casino in Vegas);   and especially the California and Main street Station properties which tend to have a couple machines that are set at some nostalgically generous paytable (like 10/7 JOB!)  Unless I am offered some free play, or some other truly EXCEPTIONAL deal or scenario, you will rarely see me SERIOUSLY playing video poker in a property like Bellagio, or Caesars, or Mandalay Bay, etc etc etc.   I also enjoy the Orleans, as a previous poster shared.....and certainly places like Sams Town and (sometimes) the various Station casino properties offer a good time as well as good deals.   But truthfully, when all is said and done, I love the Fremont Street area and all of Downtown, with its remnant of the atmosphere and ambiance of "Old Las Vegas" (i.e. Pre-1986/87 before the Mirage came online and ushered in the era of the mega-resort; when "the Dunes" with Telly Savalas camped out at a blackjack table still existed; and the Mafia was still a discernible presence/menace within the city!)  The Four Queens is ultimately my favorite place to plop 500-600 bucks at a time into a machine and play, play, play!!!

Thanks DeBurglar, excellent post, I will second all your comments on the best places to play while in Vegas. Off strip is where you find the best VP.

The 4Queens downtown has bartop machines with progressive 4of-a-kind payouts on DDB.  These machines already have a good 9/6 pay table so when the progressives rise on some of the 4OKs they become very good plays.  The staff there is also very good.  Several other downtown casinos have good payouts as previous posters have mentioned, Main St Station, the Cal, Binions, theD and El Cortez have machines that can be positive plays.
