Hi bigsteve, The fabulous gardens at the Conservatory of Bellagio are redone to the tune of millions/$ four times a year. That is, after you view the choreographed musical fountain display at Lake Como in front and observe the awesome ceiling glass flowers at reservations. Those flowers were designed by world famous glass artist, DALE CHIHULY. At the far end of the conservatory is a Chihuly store. Try not to bump into any priceless glass art, or there goes the farm that you expected to lose in the casinos! log on Chihuly.com/ NOW for wonderful website! Penguins in back gardens of Flamingo. Lions overhead at MGM. White Tigers at Mirage and the nightly volcano eruptions. $5 gets you a 24 hour access to double decker DEUCES bus along strip and a few transfers as to Orleans. Overhead night laser light show on Freemont street. BIG Elvis (Pete Vallee) usually performs at Bill's between Flamingo and Bally's at 3:00 M-Th Log on utube and enter his name for clips.Hoover Dam is memorable and check out that web site. There's a nice nature center on the way to Mt Charleston and Red Rock Canyon. We saw those last three on a 5 hour Greyhound bus tour. Maybe you'll see wild burros and mustangs in that area. For a longer drive hit Death Valley and Scottie's Castle and Yosemite Nat'l. park. Look through the tour guide magazine in the room for afternoon performances such as comedian Mac King at Harrah's, Viva Las Vegas musical and slap stick revue at Stratosphere (free w drink minimum). Try cheapovegas web site.

Thanks, Marie. You're always a great help. I love the Bellagio for so much other than gambling. I forgot about the Flamingo penguin attraction and have not been there or seen the pirate battle at TI. I'm not planning on any trips other than riding the Deuce, cabs or maybe a minimal limo ride. Looking forward to the breakfast special at Bill's and the off menu special at Binion's coffee shop. MGM lions; check. Mirage white tigers; check. Mac King is the greatest family performer ever: double check. He's the only reason to set foot inside of Harrah' unless you must burn up some diamond points before they become worthless ? Begining itinerary, 1. First afternoon. Settle into base camp, explore downtown, locate FPDW at the refurbished Binion's 2nd. day. Mount full scale assualt on southern strip. Navigate the Bellagio (a must see every trip) and MGM. Venture into the Luxor to see Carrot Top's show? I'll be with my wife, daughter, mother and don't want to get involved in a raunchy production. Any helpful comments? Ride limo down the strip to so the first timers can view the lights while returning to base camp. 3rd. day. Flanking movement on Sam's Town? I personally have a hankering to do the East Side Cannnery. Liberace Museum? Palms again? Pretty much open? Nothing confirmed for this day. 4th. day. No idea. Scale the Mirage volcano? Big Elvis @ 3p.m.? Margaritaville? Maybe Flamingo penguins and TI. thanks for everything.

BigSteve, want the freebie stuff with addresses? Logon to vegas4locals.com and start listing the things you want to see and do. Both the Boulder Station and Eastside cannery have revamped their buffets at real decent prices. With the hurting economy, everyones out looking for a bargain.

Ed's suggestion sounds good. Terry Fator was just discussed by theodallas, kjohn and myself under Viva Las Vegas. I think you might find his act among the best one in town for clean family fun viewing. Again, log on utube and enter his name for many clips. Of course, in person his act will be even more sensational than amateur videos. He's playing at Mirage. Hope you accomplish everything on your list!

Being a family trip, I'd suggest Hoover Dam. They are now in the process of spanning the big ***** canyon. It's an engineering feat to behold. This new structure will by-pass the dam road and cut a good 30 minutes off the trip if you're coming from Phoenix. They were pouring the arch about a month ago. I see why those iron workers, riggers and masons get the big money on this type of project. This is American technology and guts at its finest.

Thanks, Ed da Cat for the site info. Terry Fator at the Mirage is definitely an idea, Marie. Gotta see the volcano and white tigers anyway and his show would make it a threefer. Woo-hoo, that's a money saver. Knight, the dam is America's greatest engineering marvel and the Grand Canyon is her greatest natural wonder but I've always promised myself that I wouldn't go until I busted out completely at video poker. I hope it's not this time. The Mirage is shaping into a 3rd. day afternoon thru evening jaunt. So much to experience. What a great city. It's all about pacing over multiple vacations. I always get the best stuff from this site. Thanks

BigSteve, beware which carrot top show you see as he uses "language" in some of his shows. Mirage volcano was recently upgraded and should be a big hit. I saw a short video and it looked real good. If I find that video during my travels, I'll post a link. Do the Eastside Cannery and for Gods sake, hit something big will ya!
