As an economics major, who grew up during the 80s and reaganomics (a.k.a. "Something"-doo economics for any ferris bueller fans out there...Voodoo, or supply-side economics which we now know is totally wrong), I have watched our nation devolve into a nation of debtors. It is now unwritten, yet accepted, practice at certain levels of investment banking, venture capitalisation practice, and mergers and acquisitions to actually PLAN (or "foresee") STRATEGIC Bankruptcy as part of long terms plans.   There is no other explanation (other than GREED but that is too moralistic)    These people are certified accountants and MBAs who perpetrate this crap.....the MATH is simple, as well as irrefutable. Read that article carefully, and then read it again.....wtf are these people thinking??!?!   I will answer rhetorically:   They are GAMBLING too, except the game is rigged in their favor, because, since our Government caved in and bailed out so many industires going back to the now-forgotten savings and loan fiasco of the 1980s thru the airlines, auto industry (twice) and finally the many bailouts of the 2008 disaster, these behemoth corporations (including caesars who has MANY advocates in washington D.C.)  know if things ever turn to sh)t, they most likely will escape unscathed.  We used to have "debtors" prisons in this country, until the railroads exploded in the 1860s following the civil war, when it was SHAMEFUL to be in debt or to not pay your bills.   maybe we need something like that again....

Daburglar, I agree! problem is we are just like animals(evolution to learn) and to do anything about it is like fighting a up hill battle that can not be won,(ok sometimes) only when enough people(rich, middle, poor, people) have been effected will something be done. The seat belt came out what 50s 60s and people didn't want them till they found out it did really save lives, automotive companies did not want cost more to produce. And even till this day people still don't wear them even tho they know they save lives. Even till this day(2013) school buses with kids on them no seat belts.(some states have limited law on school buses seat belt laws but very limited)Even tho they know they(seat belts saves lives) Shows you how smart the real humans are!!Not! And you know what I fit into the human race! Ugh! (lol) Sam

I think most casinos believe "Grow, or perish". The only way that you can get in debt is if someone is willing to lend you the money. There must be enough people out there that believe in Caesars.

Now, the investment in (A) the Conference Center in AC, and (B) the giant ferris wheel in the alley in Vegas, I would take issue with. Gary Loveman didn't ask me, though..
