Trop free play hassle

Post by Onenickelmiracl »

Is it true they reneg on free play? I'm afraid to go use free play, because I've heard their free play offers are a hustle/scam. $200 free play would be nice, but thinking they'll trick me. Have you heard of any problems or had a problem there. If I was ahead $700, I would want to stop for the day and not want to play until I lost it and a few hundred just to get a hundred or two in free play the next day.

Read the fine print and go from there. Don't ever chase free play.

Yeah, not sure even after reading it up. One thing in particular, there was an item stating players must have played within the last six months to be eligible for comps. Going on 9 months since I played there, but they're still sending me the same offers. So, would this mean if I showed today, they would tell me I have nothing? Mostly everything I saw, I would gauge as vague and nondescript, they can basically impart their will based from meaningless verbiage.

Still, the fact remains, if the offers are not going to be good, more would be written about it and more would be complaining. I've pretty much only seen a handful of complaints online and you would think there would have been hundreds.

I don't know whether to expect anything devious and malicious or not. I could be a good customer there for life, but not if they can't treat me good for three days.

They've made me so suspicious, I think I need to record all my calls and print all my emails. I had so much fun in Atlantic City, I don't know why I played around here and didn't come back.

There doesn't seem to be bad words here, so maybe all this card locking and predatory gaming business is overblown.I'm not spending $1500 a night no matter what. I ran really unlucky though and probably would be expected a lot less play than that. I wouldn't doubt if I only had 2500 coin-in playing dollar slots. We'll see what happens, but I'm investigating this 500% before I go.

Anyone know how long they mail offers before they give up? Used to always be one year, but I don't know if that has changed.

what the heck are you talking about exactly?   seriously......What SPECIFICALLY is the problem you are having with the Tropicana-AC (other than "running bad" or unlucky there)?FYI --  I used to play A LOT at the Tropicana when I first went to AC, from 2009 thru about early 2012......They were my primary (by far) property until Mr. Rodeo took over as GM & President managing Mr. Icahn's property, and totally decimated players (like me) who were solely Video Poker players, slashing ALL comps & benefits to us.     And like you, I started "running" bad there coincidentally in 2011, exactly the time the New jersey Casino Gaming Control Department DRASTICALLY curtailed and cutback its staffing and operations under Governor Christie's "deregulation" campaign as part of his effort to revitalize the city of AC.I am now 100% convinced that in so doing, casino properties like the TROP have taken advantage of this vastly reduced oversight and have greatly reduced payout percentages on many (but not all) Video Poker games/machines.    I highly suspect your abysmal results at the TROP that you speak of are in part due to this sequence of events......

This thread was posted to find out more information about how Trop runs the players club and how they run the offers they send. I intended to ask if people here had not been given the free play offers the Trop sent out. The thread on wizardofvegas and posters there said so, but those comments were the only I could find on the internet.

I mentioned running bad, because although I lost a lot within 6 hours time, I didn't get much action and just was hoovered. Therefore, my losses were assumed to be three times my ADT. If I switched to VP play, I assume I should be able without scrutiny, assuming I have moderate amount of luck.

The Trop hasn't done anything wrong to me as of yet, but I had worried they might if I came.

I hear you about Christie and gaming enforcement. That sounds like a corrupt way of doing things making them so player unfriendly and impotent. I remember this being a factor in the Revel Play on us promotion.

Ok well I was not aware of the Wizard thread about the trop.I'm sorry you lost a lot in 6 hours time......that is exactly what I have been saying about Video Poker in AC for a long time, that you can find yourself getting totally massacred without getting ANYTHING in return......But as to your concern that the Trop might not honor free play or things of that nature, I have never heard of THAT happening in AC.....yet.       First time for anything though.......Good luck in the wars to come!
