Haven't seen any posts from him in a while. I realize some don't always agree with his views but I look forward to the interesting conversations he usually opens and the debates that follow usually. Mainly here in the AC section. Hope he is well. Thanks, nice of you to say Paco.....And thank you to the rest of you who have contacted me via email or phone.....rest assured the feelings are mutual. And as for Doris, I appreciate her concern and good will too.....I hope all is well with you doris.I have been very busy with other pursuits lately, and in fact, I have eliminated Video Poker, and casinos in General, from my life.     The steady decline in and around Atlantic city and its dwindling casino offerings had much to do with my initial loss of desire and enthusiasm, but then the more I thought about things and saw what other uses of my time I could engage, the more I realized it was time to forget about AC.  This has resulted in a huge hole in my heart, as I greatly miss visiting Atlantic City with its Boardwalk and its beach, and the general ambience and atmosphere I formerly enjoyed when i visited to play Video Poker and make use of the accessibility and ease of transit/movement the city and its locale offered!   I will greatly miss that going forward....I will also greatly miss the handful of good friends, and the numerous casual friends, I had in AC both as residents and as casino employees! But the time had come to move on......I may never ever know for certain whether my observations and conclusions about how Video Poker is operated and practiced in AC  are accurate or possible, and to what degree.....either way, I am certain of this:  Both myself, and numerous people I know well on a personal level, have NOT been able to come anywhere near breaking even playing the best of what AC has to offer in terms of video poker.    Winning is out of the question, so I am only speaking of getting in the ballpark of breaking even.....which is a polite way of simply saying we want to get within a a few hundred bucks of breaking even, and this is including  our comps, freebies, gifts, etc etc.        WHATEVER the situation or system in in AC with its casinos (ever dwindling in number and ever decreasing in service and quality), it is no longer even slightly worthwhile to stay and play there....As for LIVE No Limit Texas Holdem Tournaments, here too with the closure of casinos and the concentration of any and all GOOD tournament action at the Borgata (except on  Friday/saturday nights),  it is not viable to stay and play utilizing ONLY Tournament play as the driver ..... The level of comps/perks is just not there, unless I greatly expand my play to include LOTS of cash play at the $2/5 blind level and up, which I refuse to risk.Ultimately, I have found better, far more productive and enjoyable uses for my leisure time......I now play lots of Chess, with both a local chess club and a regional (New England) organization, as well as online .  I had hoped to make it to the World Chess Championship this week in NYC as a spectator, to see the epic match between Magnus Carlsen and Sergey Karajkin, but I was too busy with my other primary hobby/passion, which is....My EBAY business!   Up until recently this has simply been a moneymaking hobby of mine (in part which helped pay for my VP/Poker excursions),  but especially the last several months I have greatly expanded and increased my operations, going to more estate sales, garage sales and putting forth/answering ads for a wide swath of antique and hard to find items.   Not only is it lucrative, but fascinating and a lot of fun.  As always, sports memorabilia remains popular and a staple of the product mix......So I wish any and all concerned parties the best, and I hope you find much success in whatever it is you pursue..... please stay in touch or reach out on this forum to say hello, etc.In the coming years we shall all need lots of support and mutual assistance, that's what i am starting to think anyway.....PS-  My e-mail is   club_da_burglar@yahoo.com  for those of you who do not have it or forgot.    Please feel free to drop me a line.... One last thing:The BIGGEST reason of all I am no longer active in Casino Gambling or Video poker has to do with something very personal, yet extremely important and profound:  I have recently seen fit to make changes in my life and dedicate myself to living according to the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ.   Since this website, even the "ANYTHING/EVERYTHING" section, is NOT a proper or appropriate place to debate, discuss or divulge personal religious topics or details, I am not going to share anything beyond what I just did......but I would gladly share via private email to anyone who wants to know or who is curious or who wants to talk about their faith and belief.   The bottom line is this:   While I do not, nor could I ever, judge anyone on any part of their life or actions within it, I have arrived at a conclusion that my own previous actions and my own PERSONAL course of conduct, spending significant chunks of time in Casinos, may not have been the best use of my life nor what God wanted me to do....again, I have NOTHING against what other people choose to do, and I am very glad and proud to say some of my current best friends are people I met in casino gambling establishments and i would do anything to help these friends of mine as I would anyone else......I'm just no longer able to personally justify spending large amounts of time and money GAMBLING in Casinos.    Once every 4+ months to play a poker tournament is something I am still ok with (but even this might change as time goes by and I become more clear about what God wants me to do) , since Poker Tournaments are actually not as much about gambling (no more than a bowling tournament or golf tourney....or Chess tourney!) as they are about strategy and skill, and because greed is not built in to tournaments......you spend the exact same money as everyone else with the entry fee, and there is no constant re-upping or bluffing and adding more and more money; the prize pool is set, and that's it.    Just don't expect me to be playing  or "dabbling"  in between tournaments on VP machines!!!!

Glad to hear your absence is due to good reason and choice. Don't be a stranger.
All the best.

Smart move. I got back into the old car hobby. I like going to car shows and cruises, tinkering on an old car and hunting for parts. My weekly visits to AC have dwindled to 2 or 3 a year when I meet friends who come down on a bus.
