That is very kind of them. There was fine print though.

This begets a lot of questions, which may or may not be covered by the "fine print" referenced previously....

First off, what about people who have already made legit reservations? Are these free rooms pertinent to ONLY the rooms not yet booked as of today, 09/13/18? Will Ocean make efforts to lodge people in OTHER hotels or motels once they are filled up, assuming people continue to ask for help after they are filled to the limit?

How long does this extend out to, because from the looks of it, this storm could cause some people to be displaced and/or homeless for weeks and weeks!?!?!?!? Finally, does anyone doubt there will be some individuals who will attempt to abuse or otherwise utilize this generous offer who actually do not need it or qualify for it???

I think the intention behind this offer is on the whole good and noble but it really does set them up for potential difficulty further down the road....not the least of which, what if people end up "needing" to stay in these rooms for several weeks? Is Ocean going to require ANYTHING at all from these people in terms of gaming/action/spending?? If so, how does that jive with gaming regulations/regulators etc.???

Anyway, to follow the example of our erstwhile leader-in-chief, my prayers and thoughts to all who are in the path of this "monstrously HUGE, and extremely WET" hurricane.

The fine print I mentioned stated that the hotel would book rooms based on type and availability. I would imagine this means that any previously made reservation would stand and those who made reservations would not get kicked out of the room in order to give the room to an evacuee. Evacuees would not be given suites either.

The hotel would only book rooms for those with proof that they live in the impacted storm area.

The hotel WAS NOT making any demands with regard to gaming/action/spending and for someone to even suggest this is obsurd. This would negate any discussion about gaming regulations/regulators. Especially considering that the hotel operates independently of any gaming regulations.

Is it true that OTHER hotel/casinos are offering up free lodging for Hurricane refugees?? I heard a rumor but as of yet have not found any supporting documentation or sources that anyone other than OCEAN is doing this....

One has to wonder how long before someone from some other disaster area or the victims of some other catastrophe start asking for, or lamenting the absence of, similar charity in the future....there are STILL lots of people on Puerto Rico without power, homes and/or other basic amenities of life....are they welcome here too??

I'M at the Borgata now. It appears that the hotel is sold out. Of course they have the poker tournament going on now and it's the weekend also.
As far as gambling I couldn't buy a card unless I went to the gift shop and purchase the whole deck.
