At least the casinos have been much cleaner during my recent donations. Just hoping to have another hit and run trip. It’s been a bitter reckoning.

I an praying they don’t bring back indoor smoking. If they do, I’m done. Perfect way to spread these airborne varient viruses with exhaled smoke never mind the stench of it and disgusting behavior that goes with many of the smokers leaving piles of ashes, butts everywhere, and holding the cigarettes at eye level between two fingers so the smoke goes right into your eyes.
I pray that smokers discover how truly BAD cigarettes are for them and they quit before its too late.

Case, that is a longer time between doses than either vaccine maker recommends. Pfizer is 3 weeks and moderna is approximately 4 weeks. J and j is just one dose of course. Those are the 3 vaccines approved in u.s.

Up here, in the frozen north, our imbecilic, incompetent Federal government failed to secure us an adequate supply of vaccine. In order to enable more people to receive their first shots, then, they have drastically increased the interval between first and second shots to almost four months.

My first one was March 27, and the second is scheduled for July 17. I don't disagree with the idea of spacing them out so that more people can get their first shot, but why are we we not getting enough vaccine? I guess I answered this question with my opening statement - we are led by a government more interested in optics and imagery, and addressing more major issues such as the "climate crisis".

To answer your question as to why we have to wait so long for our 2nd vaccine. I am in Canada and because our country does not produce the vaccine, Canada had to purchase it from other countries and as a result of this we have had a huge shortage.

So what they decided to do was give the first shot and then wait 4 months before we get our 2nd dose. Apparently the drug manufactures said 4 months was the longest we could wait and still have the drug effective. By waiting 4 months between shots meant more people could get at least some vaccine in their body and be partially protected.

May is here and we are finally supposed to get lots of vaccine. We were getting Pfizer from Belgium but in May we will start getting it from Michigan a state that borders Ontario Canada. Moderna from Europe and Astrazeneca from India. Now India has its own problems so who knows.

Canada is also getting pounded by the variants and some provinces are shut right down. I am in Ontario and no sit down restaurants, no visiting outside your own household and even golf courses are closed among many other things. Baseball diamonds are even closed. Stores can only sell groceries and personal care. You can't even buy under ware. Walmart for example has most of the store roped off, 25% capacity and has to follow the same rules. Flights are banned from many countries as well.

So we are in the same position as we were last year when Covid first appeared. It has been a long 14 months

Case and Omt I had no idea of the current covid related situations. One would think as our immediate neighbor to the north, the media would talk about it more but they don’t. The only thing I heard in the last day or two was something about mutant varieties hitting the Toronto area but very few details

Surprised to hear about Canada not having enough vaccines - been reading here in the USA that people aren't showing up for their second shot. Not sure if that lock down is worse than the risk - very sad. On another note - our border is a mess - They just found 92 people stuffed into a house in what looks like a nice suburban neighborhood in Houston. They were mostly men - 5 women. Many with virus symptoms. The smugglers still making bank while families or those with children are being put up in hotels for at least 6 months courtesy of the biden printing press.

I have no problem if we send extra vaccine to countries in need like India. One would think we would help out our immediate neighbor first though. As usual, the news we get on radio and tv is controled.

I just typed in three key words. Canada vaccine shortage. There are many articles to read including some from Canadian media. Thanks Case and Omt for bringing this issue to light. You and your families stay well. In the meantime, I have a few contacts I can call in Washington to see if they can put some pressure on the administration to do something to help our neighbor out. In particular one Senator and one Congressional Representative. Neither are in my party, but I go back with them both over 40 years when they were just starting out. Can’t hurt. Maybe it will help that they are both part of the Biden Administration.
