OK, how about these questions? Do you only play positive VP games? If not, do you care how much it costs to play VP? If all VP games were negative, would you quit the game? Do you believe walking out ahead is a winning strategy? If you didn't hit a royal in 10 royal cycles would you quit playing VP? How big of a jackpot is enough to make you walk out of the casino or would you keep playing? Would you play a $100 game if you had an edge? Take your pick.
I like it when people talk about things that would make great discussions, but never actually start those discussions.
You should create a few topics with those titles. There is plenty to discuss about Recreational VP than this constant repetition about how you don't have positive games and playing small is good. I like your ideas above. But they probably shouldn't all be discussed in the Check Everything thread, which I think is also good advice.

OK, pick one and start a new topic. I would like to talk about other things.
Ouch. If that was a shot at me I offer this in rebut: unlikely event of a royal? And if your definition of not bogging down threads includes telling of the same -43.00 net day at Caesars Atlantic City in 14 different threads, we have differing opinions on bogging down of threads.
Sorry, I'm grouchy. I haven't notched a daily high score tally in 2 days now.
Would you still be complaining if you hit a massive hand before you realized you played above your normal denomination? I doubt it, so stop complaining because you weren't smart enough to look at denomination before starting play.
How about this then: instead of waxing poetic or dancing around the point you are trying to make, just plainly make your point.
You and I have not been too terribly cross with each other and I think you're an o.k. person but when you routinely lament about your video poker play and then throw darts at those who have had success, that's when you become less likable. Examples would be: Seven Stars Broad; and, the high roller guys in Atlantic City who you abuse.
I've given you advice before about saving your money and making a casino trip with a bankroll with which you could give yourself more of a fighting chance. My guess would be that you frequently change machines only after a few hands because you haven't hit anything. I may be wrong on that but if that's how you do play, you are doing yourself a dis-service.
I have played over 4.5 million hands on this site since they started keeping track. I don't say this to brag but another piece of the puzzle with video poker is practice. There are a few others here who have more hands played than I do and cudos to them. You have not yet tallied 100,000 hands here and for the amount of time you've been here, this statistic reveals that you don't practice much here.
Instead of taking hits from others about playing $1.00 denomination after you've sworn it off for the umpteenth time, practice some discipline in the casino and don't play $1.00 denomination.
How about this then: instead of waxing poetic or dancing around the point you are trying to make, just plainly make your point.
How about starting a thread of your own? Surely there must be something else to talk about other than picking apart other members posts. I don't mean this in a cruel way. This forum needs to diversify it's discussions. Those that think we talk about the same thing all the time, should be part of the solution.
Phil I start threads when reporting on casino stories or I'll post something lighthearted in the Anything & Everything forum.
I don't start threads telling people about a system I've devised to limit losses, nor how to stretch their gambling dollar, or how the more a person plays the more they are apt to lose. I'll leave that to the experts and you.
The only advice I offer is simple: get good at a game and play it at a denomination you are comfortable with AND PLAY MAX COINS. No up-down deviations nor clones. In the end they never work.
As far as picking posts apart, it's quite simple. Don't post anything that can get picked apart and questioned by other forum participants. Then don't complain when questions are asked about your posts. Be accurate and factual in what you post and don't rehash the same points over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
.....and don't rehash the same points over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
