The "house money" concept may have arisen because someone played several sessions and discerned a tendency to win further when already ahead.

Possibly, someone could think they have discerned such a tendency. But they would be wrong, since there really is no such thing.

Wrong but popular.
John has over 1.68k subscribers to his recently established YouTube channel. My channel is 6 years old with only 2 subscribers, 1 of which is my mom.
Without the backup bankroll, the starting bankroll is at risk of becoming scared money. And scared money never wins.

Almost nobody has a backup bankroll. So by your definition, everybody is playing scared. Scared money behavior is not maximizing the bets. If you've spent what you're comfortable with, you're simply done. No use rinsing and repeating. You busted, they rolled you. Just go.

Much of this may be open to interpretation. Seemed like he defined bankroll as money inserted all at once. If you walk in with $400 and initially insert 200, your starting bankroll is 200. The other 200 is your backup bankroll.
You're no doubt correct that anything causing you to min-bet will reduce your EV %.

If you walk in with it, it’s going into the fray when (rarely if) necessary. Mini bets are a constant frustration for me. Economizing works until it doesn’t.

Much of John's methodology aligns with the views you've expressed for years here on the premier gambling discussion site. He moves up or down in denom, changing games or machines as conditions or circumstances dictate. Best game in the casino for his objectives is 8/5 BP. He will sometimes play 9/6 JoB, but only if the BP is not working out.

Yeah, I’ve viewed enough of his work now. I really must commit to his philosophy in full. I just move within the quarter and dollar range only. I’d love to catch a hot dollar game and effortlessly switch to $2 for a huge hit! He puts his money where his mouth is.

John's BFF and future partner SM has rather predictably hit the proverbial skids. One viewer warned him of a potential RNG impediment. I have never heard of it. Any comments?

Be aware of IGT's patented, custom designed RNGs that can have super long non converging cycles sometimes used on unregulated cruise ships. The Mersene Twister RNG has convergence problems. You must verify the quality of convergence the machines' RNGs have or you could go broke rapidly!!!

I have never experienced dud cycles as long as at the casino either playing on this site or Wolf vp program I have also not experienced short compressed win cycles anywhere on a program as I have at the casinos. I truly believe that’s how they do things sometimes. Hope you go broke in a dud cycle and then make up for it to stay within the payback range listed or programmed by having a bunch of wins in a very short cycle. I have seen this scenario repeated over and over again over the multi millions of hands that I have played. That is why I have resorted to in the last few sessions starting with a very low denomination machine hoping I can wait them out. The downside is almost every cycle for me turns into a marathon before I get them back. I have had more than one slot attendant usually the ones that are quitting imminently or retiring tell me the random number generators are only partially so. But they never elaborate either because they don’t know the details or they are afraid to divulge them I could say that this is attributable to the nature of randomness to have swings like this if I could duplicate those results in programs either on this site or like on wolf video poker I would say it’s just random being random but I cannot Whoever heard of someone having to scenarios of going over 600,000 hands without a royal flush. You are listening to one of them and I have posted about it over the years quite a few times. I haven’t even come close on my practice sites maybe at the most 150,000 tops without a royal on the practice sites To add to the craziness I have had way more royal redraws than I ever should have in a lifetime and many many more dealt quad deuces then I should have in a lifetime. Go figure. A couple of sessions ago while I was still playing jacks or better before I switch to what I am doing now, in one hour on jacks or better on a quarter game I was dealt quad aces with a two. I can’t even imagine the probability of that happening probably in the billions. Just to correct that a bit if I remember one of the quad aces was dealt and when I hit draw a two appeared
