Have to agree with Bill here. When there were positive games in AC before the recession, I ran positive 8 out of 10 years. Those oppurtunities don't exist anymore.I still have playable 99.5% plus games, but have run negative 6 out of the last 10 years. I don't think it is a coincidence.

This forum is part of the fun of playing video poker. Picking apart my posts has become a game in itself. I enjoy the responses as long as they don't include inflammatory words or personal insults. I can do that as well as anyone, but I choose not to. If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones.

Why do I post so much? I enjoy it. I have no personal vendetta with anyone here and I am not trying to sell anything. When the forum goes quiet for a day or two, the fun is over. I do wish other members would find something to talk about other than their last royal. Nothing is learned from that. It's when the worst happens that things get interesting. Go a year or two without a royal see how you feel about your strategy. We do seem to have a lot of members who never lose. I find that curious.

Please name one person who posts here that claims they never lose. It's ridiculous claims like this that get your statements picked apart. Da burglar had the decency to leave when exposed. You just keep posting the same ,long disproved, irrelevant canards.
I never post about my last royal. I had one this weekend, but when you play hundreds of thousands of hands, it's no big deal. Where I got it wasn't notable, nor the amount. It's one of several dozen I expect this year. So far, I'm playing about a third less hands than at the same point last year, but have almost the same number of royals. Obviously, my skills are vastly improved from last year. Just ask me. I'll tell you.

My guess would be that rascal was taking a shot at me and I had the time to make two posts to this thread yesterday bacause I'm not usually found in a casino on Sunday. Now this past Thursday I was in Iowa for business and I popped into The Isle in Bettendorf, haven't been there in about 7 years, and found it has changed quite a bit since my last visit. I sat for a 2 hour session and was down about $600.00, decided to change machines. I found a 7/5 TDB 3/5/10 play and was going to finish my night there, hit aces without a kicker for $200.00 and decided to up denom from .25.to .50. Hit quad 4's with a kicker for 1k and promptly cashed out and left up $400.00. So I was down and not complaining about it, had a nice little hit and walked out up moments after. I can provide atm receipts.

Edited to add: One aspect of the game that I have suggested before is having a decent playing bankroll to keep you afloat knowing (and accepting) you may lose it and then having the discipline to quit when ahead.

Bill, I will be happy to respond to your posts. You seem like an intelligent person. Despite that, you use words in your posts that anger people. Do you treat everyone you meet this way? If so, you must get in a lot of fights. Perhaps it's your background as a bouncer?

Don't use words like "ridiculous", "exposed", "disproved", or irrelevant canards". It makes you look petty. State your case and stop the aggressive behavior and you will be fine. Ted is a great example. He obviously doesn't agree with me, but he makes his point without making anyone angry.

So answer the question. Who keeps posting they never lose. Stop posting nonsense and I'll stop pointing it out. I haven't called 99% of the posters here liars. I wonder why that is.

"Never lose" was not my point. What I was referring to is the claim that playing positive VP games perfectly always yields a long term profit. That claim is not credible. There is no such guarantee. Video poker is gambling. The RNG picks random numbers out of the air. Video poker math allows for all possibilities, even long term losing. It may be small, but it's there nonetheless.

If you want to say that professional gamblers do everything they can to gain an edge on the house and they are willing to gamble on that edge, I'm OK with that. Any amount of risk is too much risk for me. A professional would never pay the games I have to play. I play them as small as possible, which is the next best thing to not playing them at all.

I'm trying to figure out how this sentence matches what you just said.

Because when I read this sentence, it looks like you were saying we have a lot of members who never lose.

You have to define "lose" in this context. Is it one hand? Ten minutes? One day? Week? Year?

To me, I haven't "won" or "lost" until I quit playing forever. Until then, I'm either "ahead" or "behind" LIFETIME. Currently, I'm way "ahead." And I'm nowhere near Vegas and those "100%+" games.

I did not choose my words well. I should have said.

"We do seem to have a lot of members who never lose long term."

With the very few positive VP games we have these days, this does seem a bit odd to me. Perhaps it's because we have so many Vegas players? Perhaps our members are more skilled than average? Perhaps our players don't like to admit their losses for fear of being called losers? I don't know.

All I know is I do the best I can with what I have. At my stage in life playing video poker is an enjoyable past time. It has provided me with many great memories. Once I got my dreams under control, it doesn't cost me a lot to play. It even helped me to build a sizable bankroll that I may spend some day. I see no negatives in playing the games I play. Could I use the money for something else? Sure. Would it cost more? Probably. Would I enjoy it any more? Probably not.
