I don't recall reading fl phils post about hitting 4 royals in one visit but my memory is going bye bye ! I still enjoyed reading it . the most royals I ever hit in one visit is 3 of them. I remember hitting one for 4 thousand as soon as I walked in , I walked out losing ! that was fun !!

I remember that story! I snatched defeat from the jaws of victory today. Absolute self inflicted torture.

If you read all the books, how come you did not know that 7-5 Jacks was a bad game?

Every trip to a casino adds to the long term. It does not end just because you go home. It is all just one long session and that is why the odds play out.

If they come at you with W2 papers, generally a sign for non degenerates to take off.

I hit four royals in one day before I read any books. At the time I didn't know what the odds were and I wouldn't have cared. Evidentially the machines do not read books.

Bill is right, play negative games and you will lose long term. Long term can vary. If you never go back in a casino, it's a very short time. If you play like I do, it could be years. I know the casino has a big edge on me, so I play accordingly. I choose to play big enough to earn the comps I want, but small enough to hold my losses to a minimum.

Since hitting the four royals, I have hit two in a day a couple of times. Playing single coin, I hit more royals. The reason is I can play a lot more hands with my money. Very few Recreational players play the number of hands I do. I am not trying to convince anyone to play single coin. I want them to know the ramifications of playing big on negative games. If you play negative games, you are losing money. The bigger you play, the more you are losing.

What matters long term is the net of your winnings minus your losses plus your comps. The more hands you play, the more the odds will influence your results. For the average player who plays negative games, I believe the biggest contributor is your coin-in.

Some people seem to think that there's a limit to the amount of good fortune one can have in a day. So, as stated, they can never have a multiple royal day because they "quit" after the first one. Yet, they'll go back to the casino the very next day and play then.

Last year my wife and I were playing at the Tampa Hard Rock. We normally play until 3:00 PM when we leave to beat the traffic. She was losing all day and wanted to leave around 2:30. I was winning, so I asked her to watch me play for a little while longer. She sat down at the same machine she had been playing and put in a $20 bill. Sure enough, she hit a royal flush for $1,000.

I asked her how she would have felt if someone else sat down at her machine and hit that royal? No need to tell you what she said...

I'm absolutely amazed that the poster who has such a problem with Phil's post has time to respond, with all of his sittin' and winnin' at negative casinos in the Chicago area. A true multi-tasker! I commend him!
