Has anyone here thought about wearing plastic gloves in a casino? You still would have to keep from touching your face, but you won't have to touch the machine.

I thought about it, but probably will not do it since, as you noted, you still have to keep from touching your face. I will probably stick with lots of hand sanitizer.

I was forwarded a letter written by a doctor to his friends and family regarding the virus. Interestingly, he does recommend using masks if available. According to him, the most likely way to contract the virus is to touch a contaminated surface and then touch your nose or mouth. Masks can be helpful in preventing this. He also recommended using disposal gloves for things like gas pumps where you throw them away immediately after a single use.

I wear plastic gloves when I work on old cars. They do make your hands sweaty. Maybe we should wear Hazmat suits? We are staying home for now.

The latest news is even more grim than yesterday. Now even more people close to the original man in New Rochelle are infected. It looks like this virus can live at least 9 days on surfaces, not 72 hours like originally thought. For the moment, I am done with casinos as well. There are so many things out of our control. Money, credit card slots, gas pumps are definitely a biggy. Just too much to list. How about elevators where people are jammed together?

My local gas station has had hand sanitizer at the pumps since well before the coronavirus came on the scene. One needs to take precautions but not stop living. Prudence not panic. BTW, I have worn masks in casinos on and off for a number of years because of the smoke. Still have many at home that I bought 2 years ago. I have gloves at home as well which I've used for months for home health care. Let's put things in perspective, you are still more likely to be exposed to the flu, pneumonia, TB and other communicable diseases than the Coronavirus at this time.

I don't believe there is any reason to panic. The Corona virus is not Godzilla. People who have weak immune systems are especially vulnerable. Everyone has to die eventually. No one wants to die earlier than they have to.

Orlando has already had a number of big conventions canceled. I wouldn't get on a cruise ship if you paid me. It's not he virus that bothers me, it's sitting in quarantine for two weeks or more.

We are staying out of the casino until this thing blows over. I expect lots of people will. I also expect to get a mail box full of offers. If they sent me a letter stating they were installing full pay deuces wild in quarters, I might consider taking a chance. Other than that, no way.

The best thing that is going to come out of this virus is it will bring manufacturing back to the US. It's already started to happen. The way things were going, we would be speaking Chinese by 2050. By then I'll be 103, too old to learn a new language.

Never too old......thats why we are still around. By the way, I agree on the panic part. It is the unknown that is the problem
