The Tampa Hard Rock remains open. Some of the employees sent an anonymous letter to the governor stating they were afraid of retribution from the tribes. If any of them get sick, a lawsuit may be coming.

Casinos all over the country are afraid of breaking the win-to-recover cycle hold they have on players. The longer they stay away, the less effect this hold has on them. I imagine the casino consulting business is red hot right now. I may go back some day, but it will be on much different terms.

Maybe the world will realize that the totally devious Chinese leadership needs to be isolated as much as possible. Make more products ourselves, especially the critical ones, insist on a level playing field when
dealing with them, and stop their out-right theft of intellectual and scientific property.
If they fail to change then consider sanctions, whatever it takes. But to make this happen the world would have to unite like WWII.

Maybe the resulting collapse of their state sponsored economy will lead to regime change and a first step on the road to democracy. Far fetched idea? Probably. Possible? I believe so.
Agreed, we have to reduce our dependency on the Chinese. The rest of the world too.

If you sell it in America, it should be made in America.

We better get vent, mask and glove production ramped up ASAP. Invoking Pres. Truman’s law is great. Now use it.

Phil, as you are a retired businessman you should know that this would be a workman's comp issue and as such: employees would be not able to sue their employer except for what the workman's comp statute in Florida allows.

Ted, in Florida everyone sues even if there is no basis or remedy. This is due to the fact that we have more than 78,000 lawyers in Florida. Many of them are from your part of the country. They will take most any case without retainer hoping the defendant will settle before the case is tried. They tell me $10,000 is the standard "go away" value of a banana peel slip these days. If you do business in this State, you know this all too well.

I am proud of the fact that in 40 years of doing business in Florida, none of my businesses have ever been sued. When you consider I was on the cutting edge of the computer industry, this is something to be proud of.

I feel sorry for the Hard Rock employees. The Tampa casino is less than 30 minutes from the Orlando theme parks. The parks are closed, which means anyone here on vacation will be looking for something to do. When you serve a drink to a patron, they could have just driven from NY where they are under a State of emergency due to the virus. These employees are being put in danger by the greed of the tribes.

The sad part is it's not the fault of Americans this has happened. If the Chinese had been proactive, we wouldn't be in the situation we are in. This is what happens when you turn the rains of government over to a committee. Communism doesn't work, never has and never will. It exists because populations with nothing grasp at every hope. The Bernie Bros like socialism because they think it will give them what their parents have without working for it. I hope this virus taught us a lesson. America needs to be self sufficient. We need to pay more attention to our own people and less to people who don't give a damn about us.

Most victims are M, 18-49. I’m walking less than ever. Many fewer interactions. But it just takes that one bad event. Seniors out and about.
